5.11.11 Adam News & Info

Just talked to bamafan for a long time. Here’s her latest status:

1. The insurance company gave them the money for the cars. Her jeep was totaled and the mustang is getting a new top and a paint job. Someone loaned her a clunker car so now her DH has a clunker truck and she has a car. LOL She’s not even gonna think about looking for another car to replace the Jeep right now. She’ll just drive the clunker until the Mustang is fixed and then drive it until she has time to look for a replacement for the Jeep.

2. The insurance company has done nothing for the house yet. Nothing. Don't think they've even come to take a look at it yet.

3. The debris is still stacked high on the street along with all their garbage for the last 2 weeks. She has no idea when they’ll have garbage pickup again.

4. It’s been in the 90’s and they’re burning up. They had an air conditioner guy come and they’re going ahead and have the two units replaced without waiting on the insurance. The upstairs one will work but is making a strange noise. The guy that came out told them not to run it because it could burn up. She said her DH said to hell with that and turned it on as soon as the guy left, that he didn’t care if it burned up – it was too hot upstairs not to run it. LOL That’s where they sleep. She says downstairs is horribly hot and humid - that unit doesn’t work at all and her hair looks like hell with all the humidity.

5. Of the 8 houses on her block, only 2 are left standing – hers and the next door neighbors. There are only 2 trees left on the block – they’re in her neighbors yard and he decided to cut one of them down and it landed on her one A/C unit that works (kinda). She said it scared her to death. She was sitting right by the window above that unit when the tree fell. She and her DH both ran out and told him off. Tempers are flaring in Cullman. LOL She said she felt bad later and apologised to him.

6. She talked to the cable company and they said they might have TV and internet within the next week, maybe even by this weekend.

7. I told her some of the latest news/rumors/assumptions – Lisagate, my guy, blond hair maybe, etc. She’s excited about us getting together on Saturday. She’s still laughing and has a great sense of humor about it all.
