Just adding my thoughts to the conversation about the song The Original High. The whole album is a delight and a major win for Adam and his team. However, the very first time I heard the title song, I only got as far as the second time Adam sings the word "comfort." I can't even describe how sexy his voice resonates when he utters that word. Kept having to hear the whole song over and over again. The beat is infectious, the lyrics are cool {a big must for radio, I think,} and the message of the song is so universal. Who hasn't longed for that summer day, long ago, when....? But, above all, it;s that second time he sings COMFORT..... I ccompletely agree with and understand everything you just wrote, but for me that visceral sexy vocal hit comes in the very first line "I've got a need for speed and on a hot night..," gah, I'm gone!! Yes and yes. I think a lot of guys will connect to this and also the toke just before the second verse. It doesn't come up often but driving is a small thread running through this album; TOH, ALN, and After Hours. I have decided that After Hours is an ode to his Bentley ... "Power, I feel at the wheel". I like to listen to this song right before I go to sleep, it soothes me.

I have enjoyed reading the posts on songs the fans like on Adam's Original High Album. Like many, I have a hard time make a decision about what is my favorite track. This album is truly amazing.
If I had to choose a next single, I would choose TOH. Why? I think it will be a cross over hit and appeal to pop and urban listeners.
My pick for third single is Rumours. i just think this is a radio hit.
I love ALN. I like EINT, but it reminds me too much of a Maroon 5 song. I absolutely love The Light. I listen and I can't help but dance to this track. Hovever, on first listen, this song did nothing for me. After a couple of listens--- I have to stop whatever I am doing and dance to this song.
Bottom line, I have not a clue about what should be the next single. Can we just nominate the album?

Bottom line, I have not a clue about what should be the next single. Can we just nominate the album? ITA about "The Light." I felt indifferent toward it on the first listen or two, but now it's one of my absolute favorites on the album, and, actually, one of my favorite Adam songs ever (right up there with "Runnin'.") I love his voice on it and that amazing drop the music does just before the chorus. I couldn't begin to rank the songs in any particular order of preference because they speak to me in different ways depending on my mood/circumstance. I really love listening to the entire album as a cohesive unit, but when I'm out running in my car and just have time for one or two, the songs I keep going back to are TL, TOH, ALN and TB. I don't skip any of the songs when listening to the album as a whole, but the ones I never single out for individual listens are "Rumors" and HF. As far as hit potential goes, I think best bets are TOL, "Rumors" and ALN.

Been gone a lot today. I can't begin to say what song is my favorite on TOH. Each song is for a different mood/feeling for me that changes all the time!! My birthday! What a great present (except that I may need to take the day after to recover from late-late) My favorites? Ghost Town, The Original High and The Light in no particular order. I think choosing GT as the lead was brilliant as it is such a fresh sound. Back to lurking...

I agree with the posts that say Evil in the night sounds like a Maroon 5 song. I have often thought about that when listening to it. Not such a bad thing considering Maroon 5 dominates radio. I find Underground sounds like Justin Timberlake. I have no problem with either of these being singles based on these reasons alone. Seems to be sounds popular with radio listeners. Things I didn't say is very pop oriented. Right down to the ooh ooh hey hey ooh ooh hey hey which I have heard in other radio songs. I'll be happy with whatever Adam and his team choose as the next single(s).
