Pleased about the GT Remixes!
ADAM LAMBERTVerified account @adamlambert Ghost Town Remixes are dropping this Friday [July 10] for streaming and sale!
****
Totally unrelated.
Here is an example of how hard it is to do a successful relaunch in pop music.
Bonnie McKee is in the midst of it with Bombastic -- her self-released EP.
2004 she released her debut major label album Trouble. It went unnoticed.
She then went on to co-written eight number-one singles, which have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide combined. "Dynamite", "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)", "Part of Me", "Roar", "Teenage Dream" etc. etc. -- also many other songs including "Chokehold" with Adam.
2013 her single "American Girl" got up to #25 on pop radio, #87 on the Hot 100. It was supposed to be the lead single for her album. The album was shelved and not released. It was with Reprise/WMG -- they parted at the end of 2014 over creative differences. The status of the album is uncertain.
June 30, 2015 she release Bombastic a four track EP. It will go unnoticed.

This conversation regarding TOH (carried on from yesterday) is quite interesting. It seems to be the only song on the album that people feel strongly about..one way or the other. I have to join several U.K. / Europeans and also of course "some" US members when I say I am not a lover of TOH. I was hoping by today I could tell you exactly why..but I can't, sorry. It does nothing for me. My favourite by a long stretch is THE LIGHT. I could just play that over and over. I also like Lucy. and Shame is brilliant.

Very sobering and another reason to be delirious about the gorgeous orchestrated rollout and great support shown by WBR

Just read an article in print Entertainment Weekly(. July 3, issue with Scully and Mulder x-files on cover), called "Women Didn't Always Rule Pop," p.30-33. I read it at Dr's office, and I can't find it on the EW website. Ann Powers is quoted extensively throughout the article (and I say this because we know she knows about Adam). Not a single word about Adam. Not one. Sam Smith, check; Ed Sheeren, check;Justin Timberlake, check; Bruno Mars, check; Justin Bieber, check. Every boy band I have NEVER heard of, and Harry Styles, who I have heard of. This is a long, fairly well- researched (as far as I can tell) article, lamenting a "double-standard" where females just have to produce fashion and spectacle, while guys have to be "real" musicians." I bring this to our attention because it emphasizes the point that Adam is definitely in a relaunch mode, and what a feat it will be if he can make it as a pop star. I personally get so caught up here at Atop, I tend to think this is the "world view." It's my preferred world view, but, obviously Adam is not on everyone's radar. Not to be a Debbie Downer, just wanted to report in. I wonder if the reason she did not mention Adam is because he muddies the issue. Not meaning that he is not a "real musician" but because he is known for music, fashion and spectacle. Just a thought. The interesting thing about Adam in Pop is that he has always been compared to the girls, Gaga, Pink, etc. and rarely ever compared to any of the guys in Pop. So maybe he just doesn't come to people's minds when they think of guys because they have him grouped in with the girls.

But I wonder if the divide is by genre and not be geography. There songs that seem to be less favorite for some are the dance pop tracks -- and of the dance pop track, the most dance pop, gay club worthy track on the album is TOH. It does not even need a remix. Are you a pop-rock and rock music fan? Versus dance pop fan? TOH is a club song, a dance song. Maybe that is why you are not a fan of it. "The Light" is a pop-rock anthem.

Looks like this YouTube channel owner has posted most of the album and titled each song as "Official Audio." Annoying. Good! This video has been removed due to copyright claim by Warner Music Group.

But there is something for every kind of fan on this record.
