I' m still confused how Adam & WBM make money if Adam doesn't sell many albums or any artist for that matter. Edit: Stating writing this then RL interceded and now that I have posted well after the fact. Q3 will offer thoughts...but still thought I would leave my post in for any other comments. if any...You are not the only one who wonders as well. Is 8 million enough to break even thus far? ...and future sales and "play" residuals for maximizing profit on TOH/songs. I was shocked when it was published that Blurred Lines spent 7 million for "promotional and or whatever those other costs are for getting the song played and into #1 status". Now that was maybe excessive, as it slowly wound its way worldwide. A Taylor Swift album would take considerably less. Contracts are so personal for every artist, and should be private. Yet, as a person who has really stepped into t hinking more about music than listening to it on the radio, since AI/Adam, I have developed an interest in learning about the business of the music industry. ...Some of you have experience with the music industry and have shared thoughts on generic concepts in the past. ...Would sure be interested in your thoughts/thinking!

Eric West @ericxwest.@adamlambert #ThereISaidIt is a pretty sick song!! Spanish/American actor. Made the Hot Actors list by @cosmopolitan. Named a Style Icon by Conde Nast. Featured in Time, GQ, Esquire imdb.me/ericwest It seems to me we have seen a number of positive comments by dj's and other artists on TISI and it gives me hope that those who insist it will never be a single, are wrong this time. I won't flog this horse until I can yell loud and clear: THERE! I SAID IT! but I am waiting with more and more securely bated breath...

You know, people seem to forget that these tours the artists do are huge. Produced to the max. Of course she sings to a backing track, the music needs to fill an arena. BUT, she can sang!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she CAN sing. Still, it seems to me I saw a singer last summer in a huge arena. It was a big production. Lots of smoke and lights and sets. Costumes. Two stages. The guy's voice filled that arena top to bottom, front to back, and bounced off the rafters. It sounded ADAMIZING, and there were no backing tracks at all. He didn't need any. Just sayin'. Exactly my thoughts. Well said Cassie!

Exactly my thoughts. Well said Cassie! It would/will be interesting to see if he/one can get that same quality and commitment of sound when the band is just back-up rather than foundational. When musicians credibility and reputations are individually on the line as much as those of the frontman, I would think there is that little added incentive ... or perhaps I should say, there is some intrinsic as well as extrinsic incentive to excel...in a way that is absent when you are backing AFL one day and Beyonce or Rhianna the next..... It is a little like corporations trading employee loyalty for flexibility and fiscal advantage...when your staff are all on contract with no benefits, they can be lured away fairly easily, and they certainly 'care' less than otherwise. I like this new band he is working with, for sure....but given Adam's love of communality etc, I wonder what the experience of a tour in these conditions will change for him...and how it will change for us, the OG fans. We can already see the difference and he has only performed a few times.... Look at how we loved the love on that QAL stage...that is not there on the TOH stage, at all.

Absolutely, cassie! And I have spied with my little eye Adam, jump, jump, jumping, and singing full bore at the same time. Amazed me when i saw it, amazes me still. demonstrated here, at ~11:29 And thanks, cassie, again. My basis for being amazed by this man is how his singing gives me feels, major feels. Love having your technically based admiration to add depth.

As far as QAL filling an arena with no backing tracks, they are Queen! Not your ordinary band! Their songs, arrangements, instrumentation are unique & 2nd to none! It really is not a fair comparison!

I am just quoting this so i can put the space in Q3 forgot for the link OT, but sort of a companion piece to the one above. International business is a tangled web... and the parties named above are also named in this article, if not necessarily regarding their music interests.
