It looks like, although some songs are coming down from above, Ghost Town is getting some real threats from below on the US Top 40 7 Day Rolling Chart. It MIGHT just be time for a second US single to be released soon: 17 22 SIA Elastic Heart 3809 6073 -2264 19.961 21 23 DJ SNAKE & ALUNAGEORGE You Know You Like It 3789 3970 -181 24.954 26 24 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER She's Kinda Hot 3773 2824 +949 18.966 24 25 FLO RIDA I Don't Like It, I Love It 3605 2969 +636 16.78 25 26 ADAM LAMBERT Ghost Town 3207 2842 +365 12.829 28 27 JASON DERULO Cheyenne 3119 2466 +653 13.959 30 28 CHARLIE PUTH Marvin Gaye f/Meghan Trainor 2914 2401 +513 15.243 37 29 R. CITY Locked Away f/Adam Levine 2835 1818 +1017 19.273 No, too soon. GT needs to go until end of August. There are still plenty of songs dropping (minimum of 8 by mid August), to not worry. We knew Derulo would pass. Took it quite a few weeks, which surprises me, since WTWM was HUGE!! Which by the way goes recurrent on Sunday More updates like today's would be fabulous!! p.s. Did not realize the Meghan and Charlie "Marvin Gaye" song came out in February!! I would like to remind everyone of Jablea's post yesterday. The thing to remember is that GT has a very low burnout rating and a very high net favorability rating on the listener call out poll we got wind of last week or the week before. To the radio stations this means that it can sit there in the pocket just on cruise control and jammin along in the cool zone like it was it's own After Hours. There is absolutely no rush on this song. Listeners aren't getting tired of it (burn out), they think it's a good song (favorability), it has a hook that is becoming a teen calling card "My Heart is a Ghost Town" just like "Whatya Want From Me".
So it's not competing with songs that are "I've got to hear that new one" which go almost immediately to "heard that already". They are rocket rides. We're on a cruise ship and we've got to see the world one port at a time. I think TPTB are thrilled to death that it's on this trajectory and they aren't having to scramble to put out another single. GT looks to me like it might not peak until in September.I really don't think there is cause to be concerned as long as GT is adding spins. A few spins losses here and there are nothing really. Remember the jellyfish. Yes, I think more songs will pass it and many already have but it has not detrimented GT. Some songs pass it on their way up, others pass it on their way down. GT is floating and enjoying the waves. It just is not zooming up and from Jablea's analysis, that is not a bad thing at all. It is worming itself into the national consciousness in a very organic way. Where it did just zoom up was on iTunes and is holding nicely in the mid 40's and that surprised me. I thought it would bump and go down. It may still but I would think this would show up very well in the next Billboard update (when does that close again?)
So IMHO GT is not at all done. Announcing even this mini tour to me is tantamount to Adam feeling the ducks are well in order.

I agree. The tour is being planned and hopefully it'll go around the world and get to the states by the summer of 2016????

LOL GT is doing the same jellyfish thing on iTunes. Just kind of riding the wave of the low 40's for several days now while things rearrange around it.
When do the new Cumulus add stations start spinning?
How do I access starters and leaders? That NY station mentioned in the main thread with 4 spins already today is a monster spinner! I looked it up. Jeez. Would that we had 10 more like that.

It would be fun to watch the show mature and see it again a few months later in another section of the country.

I don't get why there is talk of time for a new single with the large spin update GT had today.

It probably amounts to 25-30K sales a week, at least! It is staying there due to the AI and that is a VERY good thing!! Cumulus is already spinning, BB! Their spins are picking up the slack of some iHeart stations that have slowed down. The Cumulus Atlanta station did just start though and has done daytime spins. That is a VERY good sign. Would love to see Sirius get on board. They are being dickheads. Don't know why, it is a mystery to me.

I don't get why there is talk of time for a new single with the large spin update GT had today. Only people like Swift & now The Weeknd, release a new single while the old one is still increasing spins. GT has not peaked yet!

I'm quite anxious about tomorrow and Saturday's chart updates here in the Netherlands. There is a site with airplay and that site is putting Ghost Town on #5! for the last week (with 2 songs above that aren't even top 10 in the charts). It's been in the top 5 (#2 mostly) almost every day on Radio 538 and Q-music and also SlamFM has spun more than last week. Total spins for 7 days that I've seen are now 118 (on 4 stations) which is 13 more than last week. It's been continuously increasing the whole week. Streaming in Spotify didn't increase that much, but iTunes was on #4 almost the whole week. It's bubbling between #4 and #8 now with a couple of songs switching places whole day. It's quite possible we might see an increase to top 5 (it was #7 last week), but we'll have to see....
