Trying to figure out why no one is going crazy with that announcement of BBC2 playing GhostTown Well, for me there's no excitement because Ghost Town has already been on the Radio 2 'B' playlist for the last couple of weeks and has been receiving its allotted one spin per day during that time, so there's nothing new here. Even less exciting is the times at which Ghost Town has been played. Almost all the spins bar a couple have been during the midnight to 3am show, and not once has it been played during peak listening hours, ie. commuter drive-time - it has had a solitary spin on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show, but it was after 9am, so that doesn't really count as drive-time. And when you've said that, you've pretty much said it all for UK radio airplay. Ghost Town has had about 20 spins in the past MONTH, most of those coming from Radio 2 in the middle of the night. For comparison, the current number one hit - Black Magic by Little Mix - gets over 5000 spins per WEEK. Basically, we suck. If I want to be somewhere Adam is appreciated I think I'll have to move to Australia... Well that does take the bloom off of the rose but I suppose if didn't have spins at all last time, it is a tiny step forward.

If I want to be somewhere Adam is appreciated I think I'll have to move to Australia... Well that does take the bloom off of the rose but I suppose if didn't have spins at all last time, it is a tiny step forward. He is making progress in the UK even if it isn't the massive success we would like. He has charted higher on release with each album getting his first top 10 debut with this one so will be seen as building in popularity. He has NEVER had a BBC Radio add of any kind and now has a B list placement on Radio 2 (could have been C list or nothing remember that) so this single in that regard has done better. I would argue that given where GT is on radio in the US he's probably lucky to have gotten any response in UK as it is really hard for a US artist without a super big hit here to blow up in the UK. Give it more time as if GT builds in other European countries it may bleed over in to the UK. But even if it doesn't he has still had a better response this era than last having at least gotten the Radio 2 add so he can be seen as building. I really think WB is taking the long view and allowing GT to build organically as much as possible. I think that is better than pushing something artificially that is not working. You have to remember that we don't know what is going on behind the scenes so it is impossible for us to judge what they are doing since we don't have all the facts. While Adam did do some promo in the UK very little of it was radio related so they may be planning more radio relate promo in the future. Just because we don't see anything happening doesn't mean nothing is being planned. Fans seem to think that they should be informed of every little thing but in reality we get a lot of info on promo that other fan bases don't get at all. Promo is designed to reach people who are NOT fans already so there is really no reason for us to know in advance unless they need us to provide a showing. Shoshanna lets us in on a lot of stuff that is strictly unnecessary for us to know and tries to direct us to the things that will actually help. But it is really important to remember that strictly speaking promo is geared towards the people who are not following Adam's every move.

HAC: 16 17 ADAM LAMBERT Ghost Town 1994 1888 106 9.782

Better than I expected! Hope this consolidates tomorrow with no loss in spins and then starts to pick up. Very happy that AI is increasing however incremental. LOL on AC. GT is actually making a good move over there. I believe there is one station very strongly spinning when I last looked

Actually AC is more balanced now than it was in the beginning. The one station that was spinning heavily way out in front of the others was the one that was switched to the HAC panel so in retrospect was probably gearing their playlist towards the change. That is why the panel change caused such a HUGE position drop on AC as that one station was more than half of the total spins for the song (39 out of 72) when the change went into effect.

Forgot to note that Pitbull dropped below but Charlie P (Marvin Gaye) passed so no position change on POP.
