ilovehawaianThank you I didnt know that there's another band called Brainstorm. So, LOL , to get things right they're starting with pop - rock and they will end with the metal-hard rock bands. That makes sense. And sorry if I scared someone, I honestly didnt mean to!!! ;D

I'm not sure that you guys know this, but the guy who started the It's Get Better campaign has a weekly column where he gives out advice about sex and relationships and points out strangeness in how society looks at sex in general, and gay sex specifically. It's enlightening and amazing and sometimes very unusual. It reminds me of how the Urban Dictionary can make you go AHHH, EEEK, and WOW all at the same time mixed with a VERY sharp intellect and a willingness to say it like it is. It often makes me see things in a new way. www.avclub.com/features/savage-love/Cool! I read Savage Love in the City Paper (free paper that has a local version in a lot of major cities), but didn't know where they were all compiled online. Thanks!

Sorry for the OT, but one more Dan Savage mention. My first introduction to him was his story on an episode of This American Life two years ago. It is worth the listen-- thought provoking, touching, and funny. His views of the world really struck a chord with me (and it happened to coincide with my interest in a certain AI8 contestant--rabbit hole indeed).

Okay, this is embarassing, but I finally got an avatar and now someone is wondering when the picture was taken and I don't know. Do any of you ninjas out there recognize the picture and where it's from? I wanted to post early to catch some of you East Coasters. I'll check back later when I'm at work - in a couple of hours. ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!

That is absolutely ridiculous... Ahh...but I think this was all done to create controversy. Controversy sells. They knew that a totally topless woman pic would be covered up in most family-oriented stores, so they use a ultra thin male who looks female, no visible body hair, full makeup and hair in curlers, with his shirt wide open exposing tiny boobs. At first, second and even third glance, an adolescent female. Controversy sells - more controversy = more sales. It's not about making a statement - it's all about the bottom line, IMO. And that's my cynical opinion of the day.

He is one of the editors for The Stranger in Seattle which is an alternative newspaper. He hosts a Savage Blog on their website: www.thestranger.com/seattle/SavageLove?show=blogFrom there you can find links to his weekly Savage Love column and his podcasts which you can stream on the site. But he posts on his blog daily about both sex (he has Savage Love letters of the day) and gay issues. I also highly recommend his book called "The Kid" which was about how he and his partner adopted their son.

OTT, but I got the biggest chuckle out of this considering his wife is leaving him for his infidelity and fathering a child with another woman while married. Can't keep it, in the pants.
