evergreen, great question. Isn't it lovely that we could probably supply something pertinent, no matter what your friends tastes are? Multi talented, that Adam.
marlazzinger, I know you asked for one song, but I think this is a good overview of Adam on Idol singing many styles:

When introducing Adam to someone, it is definitely important what genre of music that person prefers. However, I don't think I would necessarily present something Adam sang in that genre. If a person is very knowledgeable, then they already have favorites and Adam would be compared to that favorite and we know that music can be subjective. I think I would present something genre adjacent first, close enough to the listeners preference but not competing. Does that make sense? Just enough that the new listener would be curious how Adam would sound in their preferred genre.
Or, I may just be blowing smoke. It's an idea though.

So, he's a rock fan but since he's also a Queen fan, not necessarily metal. Thinks music is only music if instruments are involved so does not appreciate electronic production. Does like a good vocal though and maybe a good rock ballad. This led me to thinking possibly an acoustic version of Sleepwalker. Here is a good one although I haven't checked all of them .... yet. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI4WAasinMc

Okay, how about Starlight? with band: or acoustic: Queen sings so many genres, IMO. Hard for me to quantify their sound style genre. Hmmm, totally sidetracked here, took a side tunnel in the rabbit hole, but I would love to hear Adam sing this:
grandduchesspf, those almost look like they could be Great Pyrenees? link

Don't have time to find the best one, but I'm sure several here can go right to it.
