That The Weeknd track does really get stuck in you, I love it now.... Ali Payami (who also did the GT beat) is one of the writers and also produced (together with Max Martin) I Can't feel my face! He is very good obviously. I do like it as well. I was thinking of The Hills, 'cos it's so spooky, but even I Can't Feel My Face, which I didn't think was special at first has got in there.. |

very interesting POP update: lots of HUGE losses and lots of HUGE gains! I see two songs coming FAST from below :- 1) Shawn Mendes - hope GT can stay ahead until Sunday 2) Haylee Steinfeld - +399, #35 now but with 1355 bullet and almost 11 mil AI! Obviously I've never heard of her but looks like someone popular and is shooting up. plus we can't discount Little Mix's gains... How a young actress singing in a movie about a high school choir could parlay that into a recording contract is kind of a puzzle to me. Haylee was never known as a singer in the past but she certainly does have lots of acting credits and many of them are in movies that are aimed at a teen audience. ADDENDUM: I just found out that Haylee is very good friends with Taylor Swift. Hmmm?!? Could THAT have influenced record executives? Certainly, Taylor has LOTS of connections. |

Next week, the 23rd update, has the potential to be much better than we thought!
Several songs right above GT may have unexpectedly peaked. Omarion for sure and possibly Flo Rida. Silento even! Also potential for Wiz to drop below GT by the 23rd. Potential for 5 songs to be gone by then! 3 for sure!
GT has moved up to #30 on the SIRIUS Hits One playlist! This is a very good thing! It will be on their own countdown at #39 this weekend! They do the CD about 10 times over 2 days, so that will be some nice extra spins!

I so hope you are right! because there is a serious race up by at least 3 (may be 4) songs currently below GT and all 3 can pass by the 23rd (Mendes, Little Mix, Steinfeld)... YAY for SIRIUS! Looks like they are coming on board! On this note - How are SIRIUS spins counted? I mean each spin is counted as 1 spin or are they somehow "syndicated" across various SIRIUS channels... also, is their AI = number of subscriptions to a specific channel? |
