I've stopped in here to ask any and all of you to send all the light and positive energy you have out to my brother. He was diagnosed last monday with advanced lung cancer. He is stuck on a respirator right now. They tried radiation therapy and it didn't work. The only hope he has is to try chemo to reduce the tumor but the chemo might kill him in his weakened condition. He begins that today, we so hope he can tolerate the treatment so he can have some time with his family. He only got the diagnosis a week ago and he is 58 years old. It just totally sucks So sorry to hear this. Sending positive thoughts out on your behalf.

Just don't give up hope. When my husband 53 years old, was diagnosed with advanced microcellular lung cancer, they told us he would live only for 2 weeks and with the chemo he lived for 21 months, most of that time in a really good condition, until he passed away. Just don't give up hope. I REALLY hope this would be the case for you, so he can have some time with his family. Sending all the light and love I can send your way.

tinafea, I am sending positive thoughts. Like gelly, my husband died 10 months following a diagnosis of metastatic melanoma. Keep hope in your heart and mind, but try to seize every moment with your brother that you can and fill it with love. There is nothing more important because life is short and love should be what we remember.

Tina.. I am so sorry to hear this and am sending as much positive energy I can gather.. for you and your brother and of course his family. I lost my husband to Lung Cancer(non small cell) in just 5 wks but, his condition was compounded by a previous Cardiac arrest 3yrs before..soooo .. his heart was very damaged and he developed a blood clot in his heart and then pneumonia I also worked with a Lady a few yrs back, who that survived stage 4 small cell Lung Cancer.. she is still going strong (its been over 20 yrs) so don't give up and stay positive. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers..Hugs

tinafea--so very sorry to hear about your brother; my heart aches for you but I will keep you and your brother and his family in my thoughts and prayers and as LindaG23 said in her post above "Keep hope in your heart and mind, but try to seize every moment with your brother that you can and fill it with love. There is nothing more important because life is short and love should be what we remember." These are great words of wisdom to hang onto. Hugs to you.

Oh Tinafea. Oh all of you beautiful women who've lost those they loved. What a sorrowful story life can be sometimes. I'll be thinking of your brother a lot, Tinafea, and sending my very best hopes your way. People are tough and medicine frequently amazing. Gelly and Linda and Seashell and Tina and I'm sure many other people on this board...I'm giving you all the warmest hugs I know in my mind...I've had my own brush with this fear a few years ago, but I was very lucky...it is far too common a story. And I know with great and admiring certainty that you all must have been wonderfully tough and supportive of your families and loved ones, and continue to be so. "making the best" of something sounds like a tired, exhausting, wan old cliche. But it really is a magical alchemy, and it takes some powerful wizards to wield it. Hugs.

Just to put some happy in here. I'm going to see Jimmy Buffet Friday night in a beautiful outdoor ampitheatre on the ocean. I'm a big time Parrot Head. Next Wednesday is hubby's company fishing trip. I love being on the water, and fresh caught fish is the best. And, the best news. Hubby got assigned an airport project in San Juan for the winter, which means that Shadow and I can accompany him on his trips and get the hell out of the snow and frigid weather - for free.
Yay!
