Hey, guys I know this is not Adam related but I would really appreciate your help. University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) have been conducting cruel and useless taxpayer-funded "sound localization" studies in which cats have steel coils implanted in their eyes, holes drilled into their skulls, and electrodes implanted in their brains. Sometimes, cats used in this experiment have had their ears cut off or are intentionally deafened by having a toxic chemical applied to their inner ear. The cats are then deprived of food for several days in order to coerce them to look in the direction of sounds during experimental sessions in which their heads are immobilized by a bolt screwed into their skulls. And they need people to sign the petition to help put a stop to these horrible acts. You can sign the petition here secure.peta.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=4317 I'm only posting it here because I know how amazing and caring you guys are and I thought you could help a fellow glambert out. What the hell!! I live here and never heard a thing about this. We have a very active organization for the prevention of cruelty to animals here in Madison and not a word. Where did you hear about this? I know it's very shocking I heard about it on PETA's website because I'm a member.

I just did the petition via the link. It makes me so sad that these things go on. I wonder if the students there know and if they do then how could they not care. But that just me and you can tell how I feel from my avi. Thats little Lyzzy. I have also had several cats during my life. Even my little fish had personalities. I had one little fellow who spent his whole life following his mate around the tank, ignoring other fish. Thy eventually both died within a few days of each other. It breaks my heart to hear of the cruelty that some animals endure. I do understand that in the past there were times when there may have been no understanding of a better way to aid medical research but I would truly like to know just how much is really necessary with modern technology, or is most of it just a sloppy easy way to do things. Even if some animal research is required I cannot understand why it would have to be so cruel. For me personally I would rather take my chance than know that some more animal suffering may help me have a longer or more healthy life . I do understand and respect that others may feel differently where they or their loved ones are concerned. Now back to Adam and happier things. He is my best medicine!

BETRAYED BY PBS
I don't know where else to go with this so I am bringing it here. PBS is doing a significant and horrific character assassination of Obama in what they are calling a "documentary" I will never, ever trust PBS again. I feel deeply betrayed. They are using classic emotion tactics to destroy people's image of Obama and build up the image of Romney, making Obama out to be an untrustworthy, bastard child, loner and Romney a well raised, trustworthy, man that everyone should look up to. I truly trusted PBS before this. I am deeply, deeply upset.
The monied elite are doing everything they can to take Obama down. Oh God please not Romney. Women's rights will be set back, equality will be set back, the environment will be destroyed. We must not let this happen.

Skylar I saw most of the PBS special on Obama and Romney.. I thought the program did a pretty good job showing their backgrounds and their basic characters . Where I think you are right to feel betrayed ,Is the only accomplishment they showed of Obama's was Romney care. Obama has done many incredible things, with no help at all from the Republicans in Congress. I can tell that you voted for Obama, So did I, after Hillary lost to him. IMHO,Obama has been a great president in foreign affairs,Woman's rights, college rights, health care,LGBT rights, and taking out OsamaBenLadan(sp.). If PBS mentioned any of the above ,I missed it. Where B.O. failed in my opinion was in the financial crisis by putting the foxes in charge of the hen houses. He kept the very same people aboard that had caused the banking crisis. Still in all he has accomplished more than many presidents have accomplished ,with both hands tied behind his back and a Republican party that wanted only to be rid of him. This at the expense of their own country..Strangely enough, if Romney gets in, PBS will be gone, just like so many of our rights. I guess PBS is self destructive hugs to you.. Melody

The only thing I disagree with is that the director/editor did a good job showing their backgrounds and their basic characters. Obamas character was slandered in a hundred subtle ways. As a maker of video documentaries there are so many things one can do to make someone look good or bad, darker lighting vs. lighter, subtle minor fearful music vs. major reassuring music, the people they choose to interview and the way they cut the clips to the benefit or the belittlement of the person they are talking about. They hauled up some ridiculous information, and interviewed ridiculous people about a "druggie group" they said Obama was a part of. They played up that he was essentially a bastard child, who had no friends. They purposefully skewered him and assassinated his character. Instead of pointing out how much more amazing he is considering the difficult circumstances of his childhood. Given what he walked into. Given the amount of money that was spent on a war based on lies and false pretense (at least 4x as much as Obama has spent), he has been absolutely amazing. How could anyone expect him to fix things in one go round? This is an utterly insane world of fun house mirrors. There are no words.

I didn't catch the beginning of the show ,so I may have only seen a bit of their childhoods, etc. PBS bites the dust.. how sad for all of us,Sounds like yellow journalism.WOW forgot bringing the troops out of Iraq, another huge accomplishment.
