I have a totally random question. Does this painting remind you of Adam? I know it's not good likeness, but would you think of Adam if you happened upon it? I find that a very creepy looking portrait (the fingers!!), but my first thought was "huh, what's a painting of Bruno Mars doing here in Adam News?" 8-) I think of Sutan... and not in a good way

Q - Thanks for setting up the Members News thread, a great idea! You are right that many of us have formed friendships through this board, there are so many wonderful, kind and caring people here, and it will be nice to have a special place to share personal news. Adam has a way a bringing great people together. All of my new best friends are Adam fans!
JustKaren - thanks for doing the members map! It is really fun to see where people are from, this truly is an international fan board for Adam! I love all the different perspectives and information that comes here.
Didn't know that you noticed we had a new member "Konata" that is from St. Petersburg, Russia, could you add her in? (Gelly knows all!) With the Russian concert just a few days away, I hope we get some good reports from the concerts.
Thanks for adding me, my location is actually a bit more remote than my flag on the map. If you go down to Ft. Stockton, and draw a line to Alpine, then go directly east an equal distance, that is my location, the southeastern point on an imaginary triangle with Ft. Stockton being at the the top, and Alpine the western point. It is much more reflective of the actual BFE location, in the middle of nowhere. Thanks!

I'm sorry I dont remember this being posted. Its about the AI finale I thought (maybe?)it fits here. U2 to retain dignity by not performing on 'American Idol' Apparently, some in the music business still value the whole ability-to-look-yourself-in-the-mirror thing. Sunday night U2 manager Paul McGuinness told Billboard.com that the act would be heading to Los Angeles to rehearse for the final of "American Idol." But readers of Pop & Hiss, you can breathe a sigh of relief (we hope). Yes, U2 is heading to the "American Idol" finale, but don't expect a full-on U2 performance. U2's official website has provided a simple explanation: U2 are not performing on American Idol this Wednesday. Bono and Edge will appear alongside Reeve Carney, who plays Peter Parker, and cast members from SPIDER-MAN Turn off the Dark which is set to open on Broadway, June 14. latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2011/05/u2-to-retain-dignity-by-not-performing-on-american-idol.html?dlvrit=95857

I am not familiar with "Pop & Hiss (?)" But this seems to validate the "stigma" of AI, and from being a contestant on that show, that we have all debated regarding Adam. Seems like a shame that this attitude prevails, because, like it or not, AI is a huge show, one of the most popular on American TV, and the finale will get around 25 MILLION viewers in the US, and who knows how many more around the world. I don't think it would be embarrassing for any band to perform on that show. I will be watching tomorrow night just to see Adam and MyS*&@^#r.

Well it seems that a lot of the old guard bands have this stuck up attitude towards AI, but come on, if this show was around when they were busting their balls to make it they woulda jumped on it. At least 50 % of them would I'm sure. But now that they made it they seem to take on a holier then thou attitude about the whole thing which sucks, especially the ones who go on the show to pimp their shit--tv, song, movie--and then still stick their nose up at it. Gimme a break. It's not a perfect show by any means but don't begrudge the contestants--for the most part they are people who are talented and hungry to make it and have been working to make it happen but not getting anywhere. Well, for the most part. Teenage country bots excluded. LOL
