With Amazon losing $3.2 million and selling $440K with the 99cent sale, I doubt they will do that again. Gaga wanted bragging rights. She is projected to sell 1 million the first week, so she can compete with Taylor Swift and a few others. What is sad, is that when all is said and done, when they are quoting stats in some article in the future or on billoard, the price will never enter the picture, only the 1 million sales of the first week. She is cunning as a fox and can afford to be cunning becasue this will generate tour tickets. I am no longer Gaga's fan. She steals too much from other artists and has become so full of herself. Read an article today in the latest Rolling Stone magazine issue Katy Perry and Robyn, both will be touring together soon. KP is another one who has become too big for her britches. Billboard has very clearly separated the Amazon units from the rest of Gaga's sales in their reports. She set sales records without these $.99 sales -- which only occurred in the US. Amazon decided to do this campaign, not Gaga or her label. AMazon is promoting their new music cloud service. I do not think they expect to sell 550K units and bring down their servers, but they knew it was a 1 million unit week for this album. Katy Perry has 4 consecutive #1 international hits. Why shouldn't she tour? And this is a great tour slot for Robyn who is not that well known in the US. I think that Katy has kept it pretty real -- in spite of her success. Katy is already touring and Robyn is joining her for the remainder of the tour. Kudos to KP, however, based upon what I read in the interview - she is not keeping it real. JMHO

Last interview I saw with her, last spring, was really good. Do you have the link to a more recent one? Thanks!

Okay, now these kind of stats make for an interesting discussion. If Gaga has 10 million twitters followers and 1 million is sold in the first week with this more than huge promo, that's 10 percent. Now if Adam were to have similar sales from his greater than 1 million followers, that 100k sale the first week. Scarey numbers or bogus assumptions?

Chamillionaire said that one can expect about 10% of your followers to be devoted fans. So you may be right on target. Of course, since we all buy 2 of everything, expect opening sales to be 200,000! ;D

Adam sings just as well but not better IMO but he's def prettier I'll agree with that I thought so too, until I pulled out my Queen CD. Hadn't listened to it in quite some time. What a surprise I got. Adam, IMO, is much better than Freddie. Smile. Yeah, Adam will definitely do that to you. Odd, how he "made me feel like listening to music again," but, simultaneously, when I would listen, the stuff I used to thoroughly enjoy fell just a tad short. As for who is the "better" singer, first we would have to define "better." Technically, from a viewpoint of vocal production and versatility across genres, I don't think there is a male singer in the scene now or in the past thirty years, who can best Adam. I include Freddie when I say that, god that he is. I have listened to his voice on many different songs, including his foray into opera, and, technically, his voice doesn't match Adam's. (By technically, I am speaking of breathing and breath support, vocal timbre or tone, register shifts and blends, placement of his tone with ease rather than strain. articulation, legato lines, etc..) However, people have different preferences when it comes to style, interpretation, persona, clarity vs gruffness of tone, and types of registers used. They like different types of music. Their emotions are captured by different styles. Therefore, a person can think/feel that Johnny Cash's version of ROF is better than Adam's. Or Pink's version of WWFM is better than Adam's. Or Gaga is brilliant and edgy, or OTT and bizarre. When discussing what music and what performance inspires or moves you, all viewpoints are valid. Isn't it great that we never have to be limited to choosing just one artist or one type of music? Isn't it great that there is something for everyone?
