Hmmmm......... there were many, including.... "girly", "limp wristed", "flamer", "pansy" "mincing".... and those are just a few that I distinctly remember...... and those are not the most horrific ones! Awful. I can't really remember now, if I wondered if he was gay before he announced it. Maybe I did, but if I did I can't recall why I did. I don't remember him seeming effeminate to me. Of course, I was gobsmacked by the voice, and by his articulateness, pretty amazing compared to the other contestants, I think. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be the target of those internet comment section bullies. I don't think I have the ego to withstand that kind of vitriol. And it is faceless, even more off putting. And Adam continues to have to face it, doesn't he? He just mentioned (in the Holland contestant video, I think) that the comments after the first time he sang with Queen were brutal. Although, his response, "Man, I have to work harder," is so centered, so mature that it boggles my mind. Yes there is sill really crappy stuff being said. One that stands out in my mind was when Adam introduced Echosmith at some radio thing a few months back and they all posed for a pic together that Echosmith posted on their Instagram. (FYI..... Echosmith is made up of 4 teen siblings)..... Some jerk in the comments implored the sister to warn her younger brothers "to stay away from that Adam Lambert" Shit like that just makes me SMH and quietly think WTF is wrong with people...... |
