Snoop Dog Yes, all Adam needs is one huge hit to get all the Top 40 stations to play him. Maybe because I am in LA, but cracking KIIS really means a lot to me. I dunno, maybe since Adam is in LA it might mean a lot to him, too. If he listens to the radio, at home, that is the station he'd be listening to. I trust his musical instincts though. If he thinks he needs a CA Gurls type song, I can support that. sooo... are you saying he needs to compromise and produce some piece of sh*t song just to get to the Top 40 stations? - That's OK, if it takes only one of those... but how will he get any cred after that? IMO he is here to stay and make music and not the crap that TOP 40 plays... (hope I am not offending anyone here... ) Everything on the Top 40 isn't "crap". There is nothing wrong with having songs like Fuckin' Perfect, Rolling in the Deep, or Firework. Those are the types of songs that become the Mega Hits. The main point is, Adam wants Pop hits. He listens to Top 40 radio and he wants his singles to be played on the CHR stations. The artists who are churning out Top 10 hits have "cred" in the Pop Music world. If that is something that Adam wants, I want it for him.

I loved that interview with Haley. She said many things that Adam also has said (doubt if she had heard him say these things before because she did not seem to know much about past Idols). Two examples: - she likes the energy she gets from the audience which she gives back and they give back again; infinity symbol, anyone? - she likes to dress up and chooses clothes to fit the song; this is all part of performing.
She said many nice things about Adam and thinks he is magnificent. Haley, we know he is!
Haley appears to be very down to earth and does not take herself too seriously. I wish her the best!

I love that Katy Perry is kicking the crap out of Gaga and so is Adele. If Adam had a California Gurls hit - I would be over the moon. Whatever it takes, I'm for it. If it's collab with an urban singer/rapper - so be it. But I doubt any urban singer/rapper would collaborate with Adam. My god it would tarnish their reputation for singing with a gay dude. snurk.
Seriously, we can speculate all we want. Adam wants longevity and he is gonna do what it takes.

OT Looks like Kelly's cross over to Country music. Her manager's Reba's husband. However, looks like more idol coss over to country, Archie and Kris . Read in MJs that Archie and Kris're coming to Nashville for some writing sessions. Maybe AI should change it's name next year to Country Idol..

IMO he is here to stay and make music and not the crap that TOP 40 plays... (hope I am not offending anyone here... ) Not all Top 40 is crap, but yes, some of it is. I think Chunkey's post above sums it up really well.Adam wants to be a Pop star. That means being commercial. Do I think he would record and release a piece of sh*t? No, way! It's Adam F Lambert. We all know Adam can take pretty much any song and sing the crap out of it. And I think he's going to do more of that this album, as he has said. People want to hear his voice. He may have been talked into holding back ~some during FYE because he was told "You have to be 'radio friendly' ..." Well, things are in a constant state of flux and Adele is a perfect example of something being SO GOOD that radio can't deny it. "Rolling in the Deep" has quality writing, performance, production, depth, soul, vulnerability and is extremely catchy. It should be an HAC song, but Top 40 (including KIIS), can't deny it's viability and play it. Now they'll likely play all of Adele's songs. This is a perfect foundation for Adam, IMO. An audience for no gimmicks, just a kick-ass song executed by a quality singer. BTW, Shoshonna did confirm earlier that said artist she was referring to is a HE.

Pop is generally fun, but doesn't need to be throw away stuff....it's what he wants. It's the genre he picked. I grew up on pop and actually like much of Top 40...shrug... P.S. I'm not as young as Chunkey but was exposed to rap via my son and his friends and like some. I think Eminem is a brilliant writer (although certainly take offense at some of his lyrics). Sometimes I do wonder how some on the board here can like Adams music so much but disdain all other pop artists....

I would love most for Adam to have an Adele type hit, her vocals are the main focus of the song, he is the only other artist I know who can do that.
