I love this clip for so many reasons. First, Kris asks Adam what he is playing and Adam points to his throat. That says it all! It IS his instrument, and he plays it like a master. He don't need no guitar!

We recently discussed Adam collaborating with another singer. This clip is a great example of why that is so not a good idea for the other singer. When you hear them side by side, trading phrases, Adam's voice just outshines Kris's. By a mile.

On Angelina's program last night she spoke about how masterful it is when a performer can make you feel safe, happy and relaxed. How you don't have to worry about whether they can execute the song, hit the notes, and deliver the message. How you can trust them to sing it well and transport you. In this clip, when Kris sings I can literally feel the tension in his body and in his voice. My throat is straining with him to hit those notes. Then, when Adam starts to sing, I can feel my body just relax. His voice feels so effortless and in control.

Can you hear it, too? Can you feel it?

I'm soooooooooooo far behind here...so, sorry bout that.

I have nothing at all against Kris. I just, plain and simply, do not like his voice, whatsoever!!! It makes me cringe. Sorry, if I offend anyone, JMHO.

But, that's not even the point! Adam just soothes my soul. He makes all the bad things go away. He sings with such ease and confidence. He is always *on*, no matter what he sings. Even if he forgets the words..hehehe!

I hope I get to hear Angelina's program sometime. Work has been taking up way too much of my stanning time. Actually, it's kicking my ass right now, and making me very grumpy.

I thank all of you here, and Adam, for helping out with that!!! You all rock!!! I come home, all frustrated, and you all just make it better.

I know we all have our struggles. Mine aren't nearly what some are, but they are mine, and somedays are worse than others.

I'm tired & need to take a shower, but there are major thunderstorm warnings right now, so will have to torture myself a bit longer (lol) and read on for a while.

You all make me smile, when I don't think I can anymore.

So if the mission is to get Adam on KIIS FM, I do not think a collaboration is the magic answer.

It might be more likely for him to get on song on KIIS if....

- It is a mega hit that KIIS needs to play so that they stay classified as CHR vs. Urban. (Taylor Swift does that for them.)

- He does an electro hop song that appeals to an urban, multicultural audience.

KIIS is #1 in LA because the most people listen to KIIS. The market is 40% Hispanic/Latino, 7% Black.

This is not an HAC-leaning market like Top 40 in NY and Philly or Canada. So if Adam puts out more HAC-leaning songs like WWFM and IIHY, he can forget LA.

Hell if it were my car I'd probably keep the dent and brag to everyone in sight that Willie made it. He's the only other person besides Adam who brings out my crazy blind devotion. He'd have to kick a puppy or something to make me believe anything bad. :-/ But he does charity work for animals so I'm not too worried. ;D

Wonder why KIIS is more urban than NYC or Philly? That doesn't compute with me. As a matter of fact, with the city demographics, I would think LA would be the least urban of those 3. I think if the PDs played Adam in LA, his music would get requested and get purchased.

All the songs I highlighted above are pretty close to IIHY and several are not as good, IMO. Sorry, but KIIS could play Adam if the PD wanted to. His music would fit in with this stuff very easily.

The number one song on this list is extremely HAC leaning, IMO. And by a "non-sexulized" Anglo, British female, seemingly the antithesis of this urban-leaning market.
