IMO, WWFM was and is a big hit. It is appraoching 2Mil and has a great hook. Even people I know who are anti-Idol, love that song. Yet, KIIS hardly played it at all. My opinion is that the PD either has an Idol bias or an Adam bias. Those are guesses. I think it is probably important to Adam to get played on KIIS. It's the station he's been listening to for 9 years now. Bruno Mars started off with several duets, then went solo. If a good duet would get Adam played, I'm all for it. And IMO, there is no way anyone he duets with, could ever over shadow him. No way.... it would be impossible! I does not matter what we think -- Adam will do what he wants but the is no imperative that a new artist do duets. Bruno Mars transitioned from a featured artist supporting other artists to a solo artist. Adam is already a solo artist. He doesn't need to do feature slots like some session artist. Katy Perry is big enough to get major artists to be featured on her songs. Adam is not that big. Adam is a solo artist who isn't big enough to get a major artist featured on his song. And he is unlikely to get to do a duet and equal billing with a megastar. So let's say he could do a collaboration with Pitbull -- do you really want to see XXX by Pitbull featuring Adam Lambert. I don't. It does him no go and he would not make much money. Also does Adam really listen to KIIS? Could be, I just do not recall him ever saying that. There are over 100 stations in LA air plus online plus Sirus XM, plus cable radio, plus downloaded music. I would be surprised if Adam was a regular listener to any commercial radio station. But if he did listen to commercial radio, why would he regularly listen to KIIS? Just does not sound like Adam's playlist.

This off the current topic. To those who didn't get their Charity Water Photo - Lane said on Adam's site several months ago, that many names and addresses were lost on that Saturday by Charity Water. They were overwhelmed and not capable of keeping the records. She then said please mail or email her and they would straighten it out. They seem able to find people but I think maybe it is the address which is the problem - names and addresses got separated. Can anyone PM me the email address to use for this? I have not gotten my tax receipt from Charity: Water or my photo.

Also, I have huge expectations, but I try to tell myself that an album like 21 by Adele is the exception rather than the rule. I would LOVE Adam to have the male counterpart to that, but that is one of the best+catchiest albums in the last decade (when you take into account quality plus popularity together). So, loweeerrrrring expectations here. I could do even with a top 5 hit on Top 40 Radio, that'd be fine for me. Of course, but again, this is the kind of thing Adam is saturating himself in right now. He is certainly capable of that level of quality, I believe. And sure, in any creative venture, there are multiple stars that have to align to pull any cohesive work of art off. I wasn't saying that he had to be at "21"s level, but that the success of her album PROVES there is a market for substance and quality and not just autotune and fluff. And actually, Adam can do dance stuff very well. That funkier version of "Kiss & Tell" is awesome. I'm trying to find it, does anyone have it handy? ETA: I don't think I realized this version was a Fonzerelli edit: I LOVE 'Kiss and tell' it's my favorite pre idol song of Adam and whatever it takes for Adam to have the success he deserves I am all for it - collaborations or not collaborations :D

Hi all. Just a few thoughts on the current topic before I go running off to catch up on the early pages/photos/vids. By the time I type this you'll have probably moved on or gone to bed. But what the heck? I don't get a lot of time to participate these days so here goes...
I have to believe Adam doesn't take himself all that seriously, in terms of collabing with others. I'm taking my cue from the fact he was trained to work with others from a young age, letting other kids sometimes take the lead (although he could probably sing rings around them).
He knows he is good ("I can sing my face off"); is supremely confident; and takes joy in teaming up with others. How freaking excited was he to perform that first duet with Allison?
I like that in my singing stars. I have always loved to hear pairings I would not have dreamt up (before the now prevalent habit of having "stars" collabing/guesting with anyone and everyone who can bring hits).
MJ/Paul McCartney. Patti/Mike McDonald. Aerosmith/RunDMC. Aaron N/Linda Ronstadt. JZ/Linkin Park, etc. ect.... Love it!
As for rap. Like most things, I like some and detest others. I have just as deep an appreciation for the rap I like, as any other musical form. When done well, rap is pure poetry. Words and phrases spoken in meter/pentameter and other rhythmic tones, tailored to beats to tell a story. This is why, to name a few, some of JZ, Eminem, B.o.b and Damian Marley's dancehall style (rap's pre-cursor) are so brilliant. They all have lines and verses in some of their songs that jump out at you for the sheer "wordsmithness" and phraseologies. Pure poetry set to beats.
Sorry if all that did not make much sense. I am typing fast and I'm tired.

I love Adele - and her "Rolling in the Deep". I love her CD; listen to it every day. Her voice is honest, but, mostly, she is singing from her chest and throat. It may cost her. You can hear her going from chest to head when she sings the word 'deep' and moves the tone upwards. The note goes to her 'head' and the tone is clear and pure. Head voice preserves the vocal when the range goes higher. Adam's range seems to transition freely from chest to head. This is a credible talent; not to be received lightly. Taking a throaty, emotional tone and stretching it is doing your vocal cords no favor. If your 'best voice' is in your chest you realize it and use it. When you stretch that vocal range, and try to keep the notes that belong higher "in your head voice", instead, in your chest - - well, that's when the vocal cords become strained and can, over time, be damaged. In my opinion, it cost Julie Andrews her light, ringing head-voiced tone; trying to belt it out in 'Victor-Victoria'. The raspy, throaty tone of Adele will create laryngitis if she takes it to the high notes, because the tone, as genuine as it is, is forced. The forced, chest voice that tries to go higher and higher will break; as it did when Lauren Alaina in AI worked it up and up. Laryngitis is not the result of singing too much. It is the result of forced singing; putting your voice in the wrong place. It's like yelling at a ball game; too much, too long. A voice, placed where it belongs - chest or head - and supported with adequate breath control - will thrive with care and use. Hello Adam. I'm no expert . . . but I've been performing for a long time.

Nothing to contribute - so feel free to scroll on by! Boy - I am of two minds here. In more than two ways. I would love to hear Adam with Eminem; but, really, I can hardly think of another collaboration that would blow me away. I prefer just Adam. I don't need anything, or anyone else. To quote Cassie, ". . . we are gathered here because we all resonate to Adam's singing voice". Oh, you are so right! It is like the address on the envelope. There is so much more inside. Through Adam I'm learning to stop questioning - and just do it. At 3AM last Saturday morning, only the light of this little computer bathed me. I was in the dark, defined only by the small light from the screen as I searched the 'Moscow thread'. My past experience shows not much has awakened me at 3AM; other than sex, a trip involving an early plane flight, an eclipse, snow falling in the middle of the night, or a baby's birth. My husband found me, and put a blanket over my shoulders to keep me warm. And loved. I've changed. I'm here because I feel I'm amongst people who have also felt a transformation at their very core. Hearing Adam's voice - the clear, gorgeous plea, the joy, the anger, the honesty, the playfulness, the eros - implores me to try to create a song in my life that can be that genuine. Thank you to all Topians who can do the math. Because, when it comes to Adam I can't compute. Is it strange to feel such friendship on a fan site? I'm hoping that he and Sauli are "intertwined, quiet"; together in London. Just as I hope my own children are embraced, tonight, by those they love. See, I really have nothing to say. Just have something to feel. I'm so grateful to have this place; learn about all of you I may never meet - as soulmates (we should all be lucky to have a seoulmate!) who share the fascination "that turned to love". Sigh, I love your postings almost as much as I love Adam...

RITD is an exceptional song. Pretty much everything about it is perfection. Adele gives hope to every good singer, performer, artist out there. However, the other songs I highlighted are no better than IIHY. And a few are worse. Just my opinion. The reason everyone loves CA Gurls, Teenage Dream, etc is because they hear it every 40 minutes on KIIS! It's kind of hard for IIHY to "catch on" if it never got played or added. And I love FYE, the album. It got good reviews from most music critics, so I don't think I am unduly biased. Out of 18 songs, there are only 2 I consistently skip. There are 5 that I repeat every time I listen. Still not tired of it after almost 2 years. ITA with you, in this case 'familiarity does NOT breed contempt' people like some of those songs because they hear them so much, not the opposite...JMHO of course

In the AI interview, Adam said he is making an album based on the music he likes to listen to and he would like to have 5 WWFM hit singles from that album. Adam's playlist was published on itunes months ago. His playlist of favorites songs has some Top40 songs, but many are are a mix of indie, AAA type music. I take him at his word. From the very beginning during AI, he said what his first album was going to be and FYE was as he described.
Adam #2 will be just as he described it in that interview. It will be music he likes and hopefully it will have 5 hit singles. Whatever the sound or collabs or lack of, he is trying for somthing awesome. I have never been able to predict Adam's sound, so I don't try anymore. I just wait to hear what he is going to do next. Adam #2 is idol Tuesday's nights amplified.
