quoting myself since cassie's not here right now, and lots of you have been asking about this program. think it got overshadowed by news of Adam on Swedish TV, but that is his AI10 Aftermath performance. carry on........ Thanks for posting this. Anyone interested in listening, for the first part of the program we discuss what communication is, and how people who are deaf communicate (my field of study) and how they experience music. The first reference to Adam (tho' at that point he is still unnamed) is at about 18:30. At about 21:00 Angelina starts her discussion about what makes a singer a masterful communicator. Again, we do not mention Adam by name, but, listen to her list of attributes. (It was clear to me we were both discussing Adam, in particular, not just singers in general. Subtext. ) Adam displays every one of them. A lesson on why Adam moves us the way he does. At about 36:15 Angelina brings it around to Adam as an example of a singer who incorporates all the elements and communicates masterfully with his audience. The rest of the hour is spent discussing Adam's performances, his off-stage presence, and the three songs she plays to illustrate her points: Come Home, BorW, and TOFT. Hope you enjoy it. Is there a YT vid of this or anyway to listen to it w/o having to download?

I love the fandom acronyms. It's one of the things that bind a particular group together. Years from now you will remember them and a smile will come to your face. (catching up. i may be a few pages behind) That is right Pastababy....also specific words like 'now Jump' or 'berting' or 'fianally'...it is called creating 'fantasy chains' and is an integral component of in-group bonding!! hehehe Love it when rl confirms theory!!

Speaking of collaborators ... Nikka Costa just put out a new Nikka's Box. She teases one of her new songs at the end. The vid is very cute!! (Now, if we can only get Adam to do this with only his nether regions covered ... or topless either, for that matter, sheesh!) www.youtube.com/user/nikkasbox(I guess regular YT channels don't embed ...)

I will post the YT link as soon as it is up. Thanks.

on SYTYCD last night there was a young man from a musical theater backround who was a terrific dancer, but all three judges said he was great , but they weren't feeling it..like it was real.. sound familiar? Kara's critique of Adam..odd that they both are from musical theater tonight they will show the LA auditions..hope Sasha makes it I saw that too and made the connection. It seems to make more sense to me that musical theatre displays of feeling and filmed displays are equally genuine...they are just different 'languages' and it seems unfair to penalize or elevate one over the other. That is tantamount to saying that German is not as romantic or genuinely emotional as French, for example, and insisting that to 'keep it real' everyone has to communicate in French!! Same difference, IMHO
