I love the fandom acronyms. It's one of the things that bind a particular group together. Years from now you will remember them and a smile will come to your face. (catching up. i may be a few pages behind) That is right Pastababy....also specific words like 'now Jump' or 'berting' or 'fianally'...it is called creating 'fantasy chains' and is an integral component of in-group bonding!! hehehe Love it when rl confirms theory!! they also cause people who are new or unfamiliar to feel excluded and therefore not welcome. "in group" bonding belongs on private/exclusive boards where having inside jokes or whatever doesn't detract from the flow of conversation. JMO.

on SYTYCD last night there was a young man from a musical theater backround who was a terrific dancer, but all three judges said he was great , but they weren't feeling it..like it was real.. sound familiar? Kara's critique of Adam..odd that they both are from musical theater tonight they will show the LA auditions..hope Sasha makes it I saw that too and made the connection. It seems to make more sense to me that musical theatre displays of feeling and filmed displays are equally genuine...they are just different 'languages' and it seems unfair to penalize or elevate one over the other. That is tantamount to saying that German is not as romantic or genuinely emotional as French, for example, and insisting that to 'keep it real' everyone has to communicate in French!! Same difference, IMHO Just in case you missed the spoiler on yesterday's thread, Sasha does make the top 20 on SYTCD. Yea, more voting. :

Maybe we need to add some of our favorite/meaningful terms to our acronym dictionary so that newcomers like wonderstruck don't feel left out. Any takers?

I still remember some of the acronyms from the early seasons of Big Brother. "numbners" for numbers (one contestant made a sign and couldn't spell); FOTH front of the house (forbidden territory); and Vito was substituted for veto b/c of a macho contestant. Those are just a few. heee, they still make me laugh even though they are meaningless to others.

I've never seen the responses delayed. The internet is full of acronyms, especially Twitter. Chunkey used to have an acronym dictionary on her site. I wonder if it's still there? I will check and then steal it! ;D

I was just watching Adam's performance of Sleepwalker on this YT in HD. OMG! The vocals on this are unbelievable! I don't think I have ever seen Adam put on a performance like this, check out from 3:40 till the end, he is rocking out into the stratosphere! What a RAK GOD he is! Those lucky Russians to get to see this for real! Excellent vid, except the focus on Tommy during Adam's wail before and during the awesome guitar solo by Monte. Oh, well....... www.youtube.com/user/Walerica89#p/u/7/qz6TAkuHCKAETA: Yay, I figured out how to embed this, learning!

Uploaded by MyGlamRockGodUK on Jun 2, 2011 I love how Adam slowed his cadence and is using words that have clear meanings. Asked these same questions in the US, this would have been a very different sounding interview. I'm not surprised as he always seems to know just how to interact with anybody he meets. AND, there is no "cow" in Moscow so Adam pronounced it correctly when he said Mo COE not Mos COW. Once again, perfection personified.
