If he doesn't shoot it down today, I'm tending toward thinking there is something to it . . . some kind of Christina connection, performance, track . . . me too, and the RCA ed didn't deny it either

lynne I understand your POV but as long as real paper books exist I'm sticking to them. The last book I read was an ecological thriller by Frank Setching (I dont know the title in English, in Greek its called "Ôï ÓìÞíïò") and it was 1000 pages and so heavy I could not hold it in my hands. I'm sticking to paper. Yup same type of problem Lynne ,old whip lash injury. I have to sit at my kitchen table with a book holder to hold ,only paper backs, less heavy. I pad sounds interesting.. I have been a voracious reader all my life, and never thought I would give up paper ... even tho' I'm a bit of a computer nerd, I always printed out things to read. Then age crept into my eyes in the form of cataracts and early macular degeneration, and reading for pleasure came to a screeching halt. I tried a Kindle, but there wasn't enough screen contrast, and when I increased the type size there were so few words on a line it wasn't fun to read. Upgraded to the larger KindleDX but the screen contrast wasn't that much better. Enter the iPad, and once again I'm reading for pleasure! I can adjust the type size and brightness when needed ... and not just for books, but for ATOP and other websites as well. Do I miss paper? Sure ... but I'm thrilled to have an alternative.

At the very least, Ed's comment at AO at least shows that it isn't flying around the RCA offices as a "stupid rumor" that isn't true. If RCA wanted to refute this rumor, they could easily have told him to do so. If Adam or Xtina wanted to refute it, they have had 24 hours so far to do so. I agree with bridget, that if it doesn't get shot down today, then there well may be something to this. The rumor is getting picked up by the media, so if there is no truth to it I would expect some rumor control from at least 1 of them. It could just be that it is way too early for them to confirm it - they would get all the buzz about it now and not when it gets released. Probably having some rumors floating around is a good thing, but they want to save the big announcement for right before they release whatever it is (and that would be for an actual track for one of their albums, some sort of 1-off single or just a duet on the Voice.)

I wonder if the actual statement was "There's going to be an Adam and Christina duet for the album" And maybe it just hasn't happened yet. Therefore, Ed would not know about it, but still there'd be no reason for either Adam or Christina to refute it?? Possible??? :-/

But Were not good about waiting! Adam needs to come up for air and tweet something to keep Us out of trouble and distract Us! I bet he was at that train station in London to buy tickets and went to Paris with Sauli to relive their first time together! That's my story and I'm stickin to it! I'm blaming Sauli for lack of tweets. When Adam is bored, he tweets. Chances are very good he isn't bored, resulting in us being shoved to the side. We'll show him, we won't answer back when he finally tweets. Who's on board? I don't heeeaaarrr you! Then how's he going to learn his lesson? Okay, I give up.

thanks readon it's nice to know that someone appreciates my less than cuddly personality I do too..love your feisty posts I agree that if Adam doesn't refute this in some way it increases the odds that there might be something to this rumor. However, it's worth remembering that Adam is in London working (and with Sauli supposedly) so he might not be monitoring twitter as closely as he usually does. Christine is new to twitter and only seem to tweet about The Voice - although I do recall a few weeks back when she asked who the fans would want to see perform on the show and people said Adam she was very favorable to that idea. RCA has no reason to deny it because that would kill the speculation which is free PR for two of their artists...it's a win/win for both Adam and Christine to be in a news cycle about a possible duet, even if it's not true.

Well I will be the contrary one here now. I don't think everything that has changed in the industry is bad. Think back and you may agree:
Before vinyl, if you couldn't afford a piano and/or lessons or to go to the theatre....little music for you.
With vinyl you could listen to your favorite music at home but still at the complete mercy of the radio choices in your vehicle....very little variety and the frustration of buying a whole LP for one song led to the #45's but you still often ended up buying 2 when you wanted 1....and that was a relatively expensive option. And those nasty little plastic inserts were a pain....remember them?
Along came cassette tapes...yeah...your own music in your car for the first time. Still locked into buying the whole album and now you lost pretty much the option to buy a single song...hardly an accident. Then there was the fragility of the actualy tape...may have had to replace favorites often. But we could replicate and share music for the first time...
Had to fix that...hence the cd. The cd temporarily solved the problem of customer replication and still forced us to buy whole albums. We did get players that allowed us to 'stack' our cd's [much as we had been able to stack vinyl LP's] but we were still buying the whole lp.
Throughout all these formats we were always at the mercy of the Radio dj's/owners and the music sellers. What digitizing music has allowed us is to easily listen and find what we like, to buy what, and ONLY what we like [and easy access to previewing those choices], in whatever format we wish. We can copy and collect our favorites easily, and replicate them multiple times. I do not have to go out of my home to purchase this music and do not have to deal with someone else 'pushing' their choices on me. I can send a link to a friend across the country or world and recommend something and they can do the same.....I tend to trust a friend with similar interests over a young guy in a music store who is paid on commission.
Without the current options, I would not have all of you to commiserate with....you can't have just 'part' of a revolution or a movement....it all goes together. Most of us could not afford to go to many concerts...there were not that many of them in the first place, and you did not always even hear of them. I listen to far more music and have far more choice now than ever in the days of having to go to the music store to find something. That was fun when I was a child but not any more....
Books have gone thru similar changes, though less drastic for the most part. But I remember the day not so long ago when hardback was the preferred format...now I wait for the paperback because it is easier to hold to read, and I really want an ipad or e-book/kindle as soon as I can afford one! sorry....just do....new technologies excite me...
Confession here.....still prefer the daily paper, in paper.....that is harder to adjust to...:-)
I will shut up now. Sure hope all the duet rumors are true....need the excitement...
