and Q3: Just wondering, doesn't the first statement worry you as far as Adam fighting for the few spots on the Top 40 that go to males who aren't 1. hip-hop/rap or 2. R&B? I have to admit, it concerns me. I really hope Adam can have another song like WWFM! Assuming that Adam has a radio-worthy single, and RCA will not let him release without a single they are pretty sure will get airplay. 1. Adam got substantial airplay in 2009 and 2010 on CHR, HAC and AC. The three formats he needs to have support from. 2. He has done everything needed to support radio stations and build good relationships with PDs. 3. RCA managed his radio promotion really well and he did not end up doing tons of promo concerts. Since he is not touring until 2012, he should have time to do holiday promo concerts (Jingle Balls and so on) if they need this to get him airplay. There is no reason that he should not get airplay. I believe that the lack on white men on radio (outside of Country) is directly linked to the decline of Rock/Alt Rock which is the other genre dominated by white men. It has more to do with culture and musical style -- than any gender preference. Adam is one of the few male major label men doing pop music. If Adam puts out some good music, there are PDs ready to add it. Even KIIS FM wants some Adam music they can use in their format in the LA market. Some stations like 933 FLZ have tweeted that they want a new Adam single to play. ETA: There is almost no R&B getting lots of airplay in the US either. Unless you count Adele. Bruno Mars is the main exception. Listen to a KISS format station -- they play the most popular songs in the US across genres -- and it is Hip Hop, Electro-hop, and other derivative that are most common. |

It came to me as we talk of the lack of white male pop performers....young as he is, he still fits this bill so, what ever happened to Justin Beiber?? He continues to be the most popular teen star in the world. He has had 9 consequtive Top 40 hits. He is now starting work on his next album. But he has nothing left to release to radio. |

Since adamrocks mentioned she wanted mp4s of the Moscow concert I made mp4 from the whole concert. Just some info. I watched each and every vid for a week now and I decided that the best vids come all from one YT channel militaryjanne's Great audio, video, good close ups and also great view of the crowd. Of course this is only my opinion, LOL. I only included another WLL from walerica89 just because from 1.50 and after, the close ups are amazing but it is cut at the end, there are 30 sec missing I think. It is the first one on my mediafire. The other WLL says WLL COMPLETE. So if someone wants to download them feel free to do so. LOL, this comment cracked me up (btw, some WEIRD shit happening in that comments section  ) I honestly couldn't care less about the charts being dominate by solo female artists. Let's be honest, solo male singers are wetter than wet, singing as if they've been castrated while musing about how pathetic they and their love lives are.
Why do people find it appealing to listen to a group of men sitting on stools and whining about broken hearts, especially when a large proportion of those men aren't really interested in women anyway?
In terms of the charts, men are definitely the weaker sex. Wait until he gets a load of Adam. I find the comparisons difficult because Adam is wholly unique – as game changers are. I think the fact that he went through a slow, but respectable climb bodes well for A2. Those who feel he didn't "earn" his place (reality show backlash), will have softened a bit. His radio promo/touring schedule proves he has an incredible work ethic and is willing to do whatever needs to be done. Just a year ago, with the dominance of sex, sex and more sex with the pop princesses, would anyone have predicted Adele's success? Maybe it's naive of me, but I have to believe that quality WILL find an audience. Sometimes it is word-of-mouth (as this article credits for Adele's success). Adam being authentic is a very compelling force. |
