Um...I don't see the face-smash-in-crotch thing a double standard. I thought it was inappropriate when Pink did it on an awards show and I think it was inappropriate when Adam did it. I think she heard about that too. Such a graphic in-your-face move-heh. no pun intended. I just groaned and felt sick when I saw that. And then that finger-ACK. I was a nervous wreck waiting for the reprecussions.(sp?) Thank the Universe he was strong and survived that night. Altho I know people who would not give him another chance after that. Some in my family. I will keep repeating until the end of time ;D - THIS IS THE MOMENT THAT MADE ADAM INTO AN INTERNATIONAL STAR! THANK GOD HE WAS MOVED TO DO THOSE MOVES!!!! I'm with Adam on this one. I just wish he sang it better. Or that it was singable to begin with. That song an to a lesser degree IIHY just didn't show off his voice when on tv. IIHY became fun at the concert but during the promo nothing that screamed wow like we know is usually the norm for him. Wish for next album, the singles will be songs he can knock out of the park live. THIS is what distinguishes him from the pack and will build his concert audience. Adam realized this and said something to the effect that he would make sure the recorded songs for #2 would transfer well live. I blame the the more experienced people involved with IIHY and FYE and RCA for not realizing these singles were not going to be sung by someone who uses autotune. Adam was a newbie. Now he knows so I'm not really worried.

Actually, there was that shoulder shrug and wasn't that ridiculous expression but it was not broadcast. We only have still photos of it unless I just wiped that out of my memory. No, I saw the still of that as well. I think it was right after the finger and the expression was a very sheepish "oh, well, what are you gonna do?" look. I just rewatched the original live broadcast recording --- Oddly, the vocals were better than I remembered. Not up to Adam level and uneven, but not horrible. And the whole thing really looks just silly to me -- still. Foolishly staged and choreographed. Too much going on. And that song was really not written for Adam to sing. And I hate the arrangement. But, in any case, the live broadcast ended with a close up of Adam out of breath. Then they cut away.

Am I the only one who finds the way these ppl pimp out their baby is just plain tacky? I mean they can do whatever they want--I don't give a shit about any of these peripheral people--but the way they seem to pimp out every thing this kid does online, knowing that Adam's fanbase is gonna be all over it, just gives me the heebee jeebies. Esp since there are a lot of mentally unbalanced fans out there. I dunno if they do it for attention from the fans or if they are tweeting this stuff to legit friends and family and the fans just spread it around...but I find it unsavory. It's like, the poor kid doesn't even have a choice whether or not he wants all of his baby pics being seen by tons of strangers...just....it's weird. But whatever, they can do what they want. Their life, not mine. EDIT: Ok I didn't know the kid has it's own FREAKIN TWITTER PAGE. Ugh, LOL. He may be able to take pretty pics (Lee, not the baby. LOL) and that's great but...no. Just...no. Seems like blatant attention whoring to me. YMMV

Oddly, the vocals were better than I remembered. Not up to Adam level and uneven, but not horrible. Adam's worst vocals are still better than a lot of people's best vocals. This is a new day and age. A lot of people put their kids' pictures online, and I think the Cherrys have as much right to do so as anyone despite the bigger audience for them. I love getting the new pics of little Riff. Don't have a problem with it at all.

Re: Adam and Xtina dueting. I wasn't sure how I felt about the possibility, but I love the rumors going around the press. For example, this quote: "Two of the most powerful voices of our times are coming together: Adam Lambert and Christina Aguilera have recorded a duet together." Love that Adam is getting cred for his voice just because he is rumored to be singing with Xtina. Makes me smile all over. ITA -- that is the best part of the entire rumor. A bit off topic but Cassie, has something changed about Xtina's voice? She just doesn't seem to sound the same now as she did in 2006. I have never listened to Christina, frankly. Wasn't even aware of her prior to Adam. That's how out of touch I am with pop. So, I went back and YTed some performances from 2006 and 2010. Found her singing the same song in both years. It is hard to be sure with sound quality as it is on YT, but I heard a difference in her mid range and belting. I think the earlier sound was fuller, and now it has less richness and more sharpness to the tone. She is also growling more, intentionally for effect or because her voice is rougher now, I can't say. The earlier music was better than some of the stuff I heard her sing from 2010. She seems to be going for the pop du jour look and sound, which doesn't challenge her voice nearly as much, or allow for as much interpretation, IMO. Her national anthem was a mess. I forgive the forgotten lyrics. I have done that myself when the nerves hit me. But, I can't forgive her excessive runs and riffs that seemed to have no purpose except to show off. Combine that with a total lack of attention to the lyrics, a lack of interpretation, and it left me thinking "Yuck." The song, sung right, can be inspirational. Her rendition was not. IMO, since you asked. What difference do you hear in her voice?

Seems like blatant attention whoring to me. YMMV IDK, I can see how you could see it that way, Chunkey, but to me, it's like 21st century home movies. The Cherrys were in their 30s before having their first child and it seems he is the first baby of many in their social circle. Speaking from experience, when people have babies a little bit older, they go through this ~thing. It's like they invented having babies. I don't know that it is any different than the bazillions of people who paste their baby's photos/vids on Facebook. It's the new family photo album. I work with a lot of bloggers who have to asses how much of their child's life they divulge in their blogs. It's different for every individual. Some tell all and post pictures. Some use code names and never post pics. Either way, the kids growing up today will have their lives lived online. Just the way my oldest nephew was one of the first generation to live his life on video.

IGB Google Chrome vid is airing in UK; the YT has 246 dislikes. WTAF???? Please watch and LIKE. Research in the UK has shown that two thirds of young gay, lesbian and bisexual pupils have experienced direct bullying in Britain’s schools. 92% of 1,145 lesbian, gay and bisexual pupils reported being subject to verbal abuse, and 41% had been physically assaulted. Less than a quarter (23 per cent) of young gay people have been told that homophobic bullying is wrong in their school. In schools that have said homophobic bullying is wrong, gay young people are 60 per cent more likely not to have been bullied. Link: www.stonewall.org.uk/education_for_all/research/1790.asp

Susie--I see your point. I guess I just think that when you KNOW you are connected to someone famous with a rabid fanbase--who disseminate every tiny bit of info somehow related to that person--then it's a bit of a different issue. Esp when you give the kid his own twitter page like the darn kid's a celeb in his own right or something. Though I guess that's not their problem, they can't help that fact...but they somehow still seem to be promoting it. I duno...like I said, they can do whatever they want but it will always make me 0_o
