Damn! I always miss the good stuff (Q3 deletes).
There were 21 photos in that old Rolling Stone On The Road Photo Essay. I had to go dig them up and collect the whole set. I should have just asked gelly for them.
I may need a 12-step for my collecting addiction. That and more memory for my computer. :-/

Oddly, the vocals were better than I remembered. Not up to Adam level and uneven, but not horrible. Adam's worst vocals are still better than a lot of people's best vocals. This is a new day and age. A lot of people put their kids' pictures online, and I think the Cherrys have as much right to do so as anyone despite the bigger audience for them. I love getting the new pics of little Riff. Don't have a problem with it at all. Aww...I like seeing pics of the little guy. Reminds me of Adam's tweet-"Push, Scarlett, push" and that little Riff was born on Adam's birthday makes him special to me. Cute watching him grow. 8-)

I remember that when these pictures were released that we were all on MJs. As I recall, the photo spread was pretty much ignored because some 1000+ post thread argument happened at the same time. I don't even remember what the fanwar was about.

I find the comparisons difficult because Adam is wholly unique – as game changers are. I think the fact that he went through a slow, but respectable climb bodes well for A2. Those who feel he didn't "earn" his place (reality show backlash), will have softened a bit. His radio promo/touring schedule proves he has an incredible work ethic and is willing to do whatever needs to be done. Just a year ago, with the dominance of sex, sex and more sex with the pop princesses, would anyone have predicted Adele's success? Maybe it's naive of me, but I have to believe that quality WILL find an audience. Sometimes it is word-of-mouth (as this article credits for Adele's success). Adam being authentic is a very compelling force. I sure hope you're right. I get very frustrated when I hear some of what passes for popular music these days, especially vocals that are autotuned up the wazoo. I really want to believe that a true talent like Adam cannot be denied a chance for superstardom. Not that superstardom is the most important goal, but it just seems that with Adam's voice and looks and magnetism, superstardom is inevitable if there are enough listeners out there with any taste at all. I just finished watching VALENTINES DAY with my sister and had to laugh at Taylor Swift's song on the soundtrack. First of all, she seems like a cute, sweet girl, but wow, how bad and simplistic is her music. The public often gets what it deserves.

I just deleted a few posts that were fine because I deleted the post they responded to.
OK -- in summery --
1. If you want to post about Idol -- or the Idol winner -- please do it in the Idol Season 10 Thread.
2. Do not make generalizations about Adam fans (or anyone else) based on age, gender, sexual orientation, race or any other factor without facts. And even if you have facts, be respectful.
3. There are no rules about the right way to be an Adam fan unless Adam Lambert makes them. No one else has that authority.

My first thought when I started was "Oh, he looks so young there" but then I realized that even now he can turn on a dime from fierce as fuck to little boy silly- I marvel at how different he can look from picture to picture. But he's strong sense of himself never seems to waver.

I am always surprised, though, when members ask for a certain performance and don't realize that your wonderful threads are here!

By saying I HOPE quality finds an audience I am not discounting the fact that crap gets a free pass every other minute. Because it does. And it's frustrating as hell. Can the world spot a gold nugget glistening amid a pile of shit? (Sorry for the graphic analogy), but it seems like many do and the others (haters) do as well, but their job is to kick more crap over the brilliance in an attempt to diminish it. I still think that nugget of brilliance will stand out once everything has run its course, because it's real.
