Interesting question, Cassie. I think the Cinderella story society (speaking from U.S. perspective) loves is the wide-eyed unknown who is discovered and elevated to fame and fortune. This is the myth behind shows like American Idol, and yes, people love that shit. But now that I think of it, the traditional Cinderella story isn't a good analogy, since the story is about a good-hearted nobody who is rescued by a Prince and her life is presumably perfect now that she's married to him. And I think that storyline fell out of favor a while back, at least in large measure as a result of the feminist movement. TRUE! For the same reasons I used to get so pissed when I watched "I Love Lucy" |

-- Tommy is not a great bassist. He has improved but he still is not at the level of the other band members -- and will never approach Monte's skill level. (I play bass and rhythm guitar and feel competent to comment on this.) Tommy has his own fan group and is popular but not because he is a great musician -- he is mostly popular because young fans think he is cute. If Adam wants Tommy to be in the band, fine with me. I just do not want to have him playing lead guitar again. Adam is known to look after his friends, but Tommy was a complete unknown at his audition wasn't he? I'm not a Tommy fan (I am an Adam fan), but feel he is in a strange position. There are a set of fans that think Adam is cheating on him with Sauli and are ugly to everyone, including Adam. I think tweets between Adam and Tommy about going to the movies with Sauli were part of trying to educate the fans without alienating them. Tommy has been nothing but loyal to Adam and they do seem to have a good working relationship. Blaming Tommy for his fans behavior is no different than Adam being blamed for everything his fans do.
We need new music!! This will all fade away.
