Interesting comment. Made me think about PINK's Funhouse album too. I was trying to figure out why Taylor Swift's are so annoying but Adele's and PINK's are so great. I think I did too! Taylor does a narrative of the relationship, "You were just 16 and I was just 15...." Whereas, Adele and PINK delve into the feelings.

Someone asked him what he meant by that. Jeez I dont think he was trying to diss him, why should someone ask him such a question :

Late, but just a note on the question of "Adam peripheral" people and band members. We are are a nosy/curious as well as invested fandom, and a lot of fans at least initially check out a lot of the people around Adam as well as the other folks on tour whom Adam introduced each night. Many of these folks choose to reveal themselves more through twitter, facebook, or tumblr for marketing/promotion reasons as well as fun networking.

This is a little bit double-edged. Some fans may be charmed and entranced and become more invested. Others may be turned off or disappointed over time. It's not that surprising that the same person might get both responses depending on the personal taste, belief system, and expectations of the follower/fan.

It's true that the responses of these folks to the "crays" that bombard them may have no effect on these actual people who are extremely invested in their beliefs and/or purposefully trolling.

But it's also true that the way the public figure responds, if they do, how direct they are, what platform they use, etc. is seen and paid attention to by the rest of the fandom who will draw their own conclusions for better or for worse. Trolls (on twitter) are easy to identify because they have very few or no followers. But some of these folks who cause a lot of uproar because of their beliefs do have quite a few followers. A direct statement from the person they are fanning might not impact them, but might affect followers who interact with them and therefore tacitly or overtly support their beliefs.

It's kind of remarkable that Adam, the person with the most to lose by directly confronting craziness (because his statements are taken out of context by casual fans who have no idea of the drama and are also amplified by the gossip media) is actually one of the most strongly direct, clear, and still pretty diplomatic when dealing with it.
