Pride in most big cities consists of lots of events over a week-end or even a week. Here in Seattle, we have a big parade; a festival with music, merchants, food, etc., and lots of special events at clubs. A lot of the events are free and it's a lot of fun! I live on a busline to downtown Seattle and can always tell when Pride is by the people at the bus stop -- lots of rainbow colors, boas, flags, and such. BTW, we also have the largest pot festival in the country -- "Hempfest" (off topic but it's famous!) and a few other big festivals. I actually thought of going. I think it would be a fun day. But I didn't seriously consider it until Friday, then I couldn't think of who would want to go with such short notice. I thought about Susie, but she is out of town, ..... Following Adam has made me so much more aware of the inequalities the gay and lesbian communities go through on a daily basis. It would have been a nice way to honor him. Next year!!! I would have loved to have gone if I didn't have to be at two different things Friday and Saturday. Next year, we definitely need to plan on it!!

Toronto's parade is coming up on July 3. One of the world longest running and has drawn 1.3 million over the week, 100,000 for the parade. In 2014 we will host Worldpride

Of course it is not aimed at my age group either so

I'm not the demographic it's aimed at either - that's for sure. To quote Adam when talking to Andrew Garcia, "I was bored". I can't imagine watching it twice! HaHa. Don't like the song either.

That matter for a wholesale sale for RIAA. For example, if I buy 1,000 FYEs from RCA and give them to everyone here -- that is 1,000 wholesale sale units, but 0 retail sale units. When Amazon sold FYE for $3.99 in November 2009, those sales were not counted as retail sales. Up until this event, a retail sale had to be at least 50% of the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price to count as a Soundscan Retail sale. Two different things. Soundscan changed the rule without explanation but the belief is because they categorized it as a bundled sale with Amazon Cloud service BUT that is free right now. Question: They counted the sales from the $3.99 sale on Amazon last fall for Taylor Swift. Did they change the rules back last fall or was that an exception to the rule as well?? I ask this in case Amazon offers another $3.99 sale on Adam #2 when it comes out. Will those numbers count this time around? It depends what you mean by count. The Amazon superdiscount sales have always counted as wholesale sales for RIAA Certification. Up until the Gaga sale, they have NOT counted as Retail sales for Billboard charts. They have not explained why they changed the rule, just that they changed the rule. The Taylor Swift sales at $3.99 were reported to Soundscan but they were NOT counted as retail sales -- so not in the Billboard official total. They were not anything close to the magnitude of the Gaga numbers/ I got written confirmation from Nielsen Soundscan that in 2009 the $3.99 FYE Amazon sales were NOT in Adam's total retail sales. I have no idea what will happen in the future but Nielsen and Billboard change the rules all the time to better reflect what is the most popular music. For example, they now use streaming media viewing/listening as part of the Billboard Hot 100. They are expected to reduce the points from radio airplay and increase the point from online in the formula.
