Adam Lambert, Season 8
“Idol put me on the map. I was in a place in my career where I had been performing around L.A., New York, and various other countries and cities. I was looking for something to shift, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. And then, when I saw there was an audition coming up, having watched the show since the beginning, I was like, you know what? I’m 27. I might as well go for it, because I will kick myself later if I don’t try out, since I’ve been a fan this long. I didn’t expect it to actually take me as far as it did at all. I thought, Oh god, there’s no way I’m going to make the top 13. There’s no way I’m going to. And every time I got voted in, I was shocked, and more and more, I started to really enjoy it. “I remember them telling me after my second audition that in order to progress, you couldn’t have any professional contracts of any kind signed, and I was in a musical here in L.A. called Wicked. That was my salary. That’s how I lived. And they said, ‘You can’t do that anymore.’ What a risk that was to have to say goodbye to my job, a job that was hard to get, by the way, and take a chance. I’m so glad I took it. Because if I hadn’t, if I’d done the safe thing, where would I be? Probably still in the chorus.”

This makes my heart so sad. Christina 28/32/76 @glamqueen99 2h2 hours ago @adamlambert Pls read @theingridlaura's last message to you. She passed away today and she was only 18 years old :(
http://instagr.am/p/BDV4ge-EjkC theingridlaura You're the only thing in this world I would die without ❤ I'm not the kind of person, who shares too much about her life, so it's an exception. In the past weeks I learned a lot. Now I know who really cares about me, how precious my life is and how many wonderful experiences, moments the future holds. I am thankful for the people who saved my life. Doctors, nurses, family, friends, classmates and teachers - their work, sacrifice, help and kindness was the light, which guided me through the darkness. Words can not describe how good it feels to know that many people want me to be healthy and happy. @adamlambert : I don't think you ever read this little message, but I still want to say a big thank you. You don't know how much you helped me before and after my operation with your impressive, honest music and beautiful, powerful voice. It reflects what a treasure you are. I will always be thankful for your existence. Ohhh...I hope Adam sees this. RIP beautiful ingridlaura.

Linderella scorpiobert 2m 30 GREATEST MUSICIANS TO COME FROM SINGING COMPETITIONSWhether they won or not, One Direction, Carrie Underwood and many more acts have proven reality shows can be the perfect intro to a global fanbase Adam Lambert From 'American Idol' 10 / 30
Somehow, Adam Lambert didn't win the eighth season of American Idol. But nevertheless, the singer has proven that he's truly winning with one of the most impressive track records post-show. Lambert has acted as the Queen frontman, scored a recurring role in Glee and dropped two well-received albums. Sophomore release Trespassing went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making him the first openly gay artist to top the charts, in what was a major moment in LGBTQ history. Perhaps most importantly, Lambert has made sure to use his voice for good: He's inspired his Glamperts to donate more than one million dollars to charities to date, and he's been one of the first artists to confidently bring a gay perspective to mainstream culture.

You don't need to win to succeed. From Chris Daughtry to Adam Lambert to Jennifer Hudson, here are the folks who went on to reach real mega-fame after reality TV Adam Lambert 5 / 15
Season 8, Runner-Up
Why He's Successful: Even though he should’ve won Idol, Adam Lambert didn’t need the crown to jumpstart his now-massive singing career. The artist’s 2009 For Your Entertainment debut went Gold in the U.S., and since then, he’s released two follow-up albums. Lambert has also sung alongside Queen since 2011 and became an advocate for the LGBT community.—Bianca Gracie

The highs and lows of 14 years of American Idol - in picturesApril 4, 2016 8 Master showman Adam Lambert remains one of Idol’s most polished and entertaining performers. He was operatic, weird and exciting – and always put on a show. He lost out to WGWG Kris Allen who, upon winning, said: “Adam deserved this.”
