Damn! That is a big loss for the LA Times, for Adam fans, and for Adam support in the LA area. :(

SCROLL ALERT Long day and I am rambling. No matter what Adam does, there always seems to be this swirling storm or controversy about the question of “Is he “too much”? The idea of walking the tightrope is true for Adam. On one hand, some say “Too much glitter, too gay, to theatrical, to over the top”. Others say “More, and betterer, and go for it.” Others want something in the middle. Adam always seems amazed by the passion of his fan base and he wants to please them (important for sales and longevity) but in is that the right thing to do? The reaction of the gay community dumbfounds me sometimes. Perhaps they are jealous of Adam’s ability to “just be who he is”. Not everyone recognizes his talent and his voice. The music industry seems to be an unforgiving place and sometimes I am surprised by who is “hot” and selling and those who struggle to gain the light. So much of what I hear is just the same old/same old sound, beat, tone, words on the radio. Sometimes I ask “are these people just going through the motions, because hey,” my fans will buy it.” I don’t get that from Adam. He has ideas in his head about his music but he knows he still needs to put something out that is going to sell. Part of me seems to think that Adam is just trying out the “rock star” persona and that he is much more of an entertainer. He has an amazing voice and a unique talent to inhabit a style or persona while he entertains us. There will be many iterations of Adam as time moves forward and I think all of us will be hanging from the tightrope that Adam walks. His fan base is global and dedicated and growing each day. There will be more Grammys, perhaps Tony awards, Oscar - why not. It is all possible if you believe and Adam has finally learned that he can trust and believe in himself.

Funny, cuz I just got a few DMs from him telling me he was suffering through a frightful meal and he hoped to survive the epic indigestion that was sure to result. Really? Well, Missy... I-- Oh, hold on-- (What, Adam? You what? Okay, okay. Yeah, I know she's a bit unstable.... yeah, I know she scares you a little bit. It's that green hair. Don't worry, I can handle her.) Uh, NoAngel, Adam says don't call him. He'll call you. He promises he will. Right after he finishes licking the chocolate off Sauli...

I am wondering why as fans we waste so much energy on people who don't like Adam for whatever reason? Haterz gonna hate, homophobic or not, and that won't stop my enjoyment of the music. I am not gonna waste my time arguing with other people to see things my way. I may have my own ideas on why things are how they are and my own gripes but I am not going out tring to make others see things thru my eyes. It seems so futile and just a way to rile people up(on both sides) that ultimately accomplishes nothing. Maybe I'm wrong, I just hate seeing ppl get all up in arms and upset over random people who are probably not worth their time. Not trying to knock anyone, I understand if it's something someone feels passionately about, I am just curious as to the reasons people have. Esp because I feel like this fandom in particular feels a need to jump to his "defense" over any little thing. I guess I just feel like, well, not everyone likes everyone and well.....that's okay. That's life. Focus on the the fact that YOU like it and that's all that matters. Ok I must be tired because I am getting all *thinky* BTW Susie, you did make your point very well though. So...two snaps for you guuurl! Well, I love your attitude, BB, and in a perfect world, wish I could do it. (I'm way too emotional for that.) But the political events of today have proven that "live and let live" doesn't often cut it. We have people literally stripping the fundamental rights out of more than half of the U.S. population. How can we just shrug that off? I know that these are two different things, but they are most certainly intertwined. We need to stand up and say, "I will not tolerate this BS anymore." And keep saying it until we are heard. Geez, sorry for spamming, but ITA. I've been following the events in the Middle East, and what strikes me is that the status quo is only acceptable as long as everyone passively allows it to be. And with social media, we don't need to wait for one charismatic leader to speak for everyone against TPTB. I'm not saying that every battle is worth fighting, and every hill is worthy of dying upon. And I know that changing people's minds is often difficult if not impossible. But for me, I'm all for speaking what I feel, rather than feeling powerless to change what is. It's all I can do, most of the time. But it's everything, sometimes.

And keep saying it until we are heard. I agree that standing up for rights is imperative, that's not what I am getting at. To me this is not about human rights or anything, it's about whether or not people like Adam and his music. Gay, straight, young, whatever. It always seems like alot of fans gather the pitch forks any time Adam is shed in a negative light. And to me, any one who is prejuidiced/dislikes him enough to rant on an internet message board is most likely not gonna change their minds by others telling them what's what. I wish it would but...yeah. I mean I think there are legitimate times to stand up and be heard, but I also think there are many times people jump the gun. Maybe I am just a terrible person if I think that no pressing social issues will ever be solved in the comment sections on the internet? LOL. If that's not the case then get thee to youtube now because we have ALOT of work to do. LMAO. YMMV. If nothing at least it's interesting convo.

So...two snaps for you guuurl! For me, I think it's because I feel most of the haters, are haters because Adam is gay. They may say he's flamboyant or not their style, but I really think it's just code for "too gay for me." Which, btw, amazes me! I see things like, Matt Belamy performing in a silver sparkly suit with silver shoes on at the Grammy Awards and no one thinks it is over the top. I see Mick Jagger prancing around the stage, as Mick does, and everyone thinks it cools. Then I read an article saying, "Should Adam Lambert tone it down" and the only difference I see between Adam and the other 2 men is that Adam is the gay one. I've stopped responding to most on-line sites that say stupid things about Adam, because I just don't want to fuel the haters. But it still hurts because I know he deserves better and I can't understand why everyone doesn't appreciate his talent. Why does it have to be so hard for him?
