This horse shit again. I am truly sorry when people are limited to one show, but it is possible that these ladies were dirt poor when they were younger and couldn't do any of the stuff they wanted to do. What they had they gave to husbands and children. Now finally, after working hard their whole lives, they are old and have some disposable income and can indulge their fantasies, and yet they are looked down on and asked to give it to a young person who is poor just like they were once. Asked again to limit their joy and accept less than what they have earned. That's kind of a cruel perspective and it has nothing to do with priveledge. I only went to one show and I did not ask or expect anyone to give up their front row position for me. But I'm old so I probably won't get a pat on the head. There is a certain irony that when the same people show up on the front row in photos, the same people complain about it. Maybe there is a lesson here for everyone in self-editting. Linda, you are talking about me. For many years I was a single mom with barely two nickels to rub together, there was no way I could travel or go to live concerts, I was lucky if I got to a movie once in a blue moon. So it is really disheartening when I've worked hard, raised my kids, and saved some money so I can afford to travel, and now I have to defend myself for spending that hard-earned money on something that brings me joy. I've bought or contributed to the purchase of tickets for fans who couldn't afford them, but I'm not giving up the space I buy for myself, I've earned it!

I don't care who sits in the front row. I do care about the people who buy the cheap seats and then rush the stage and stand in front of the people in the front row. Another thing I don't get is how the front row when you're buying the expensive VIP tickets can somehow turn out not to be the front row once you get to the venue. I've only sat front row one time (QAL). I paid a normal price and got really lucky on fan club day. BUT, if I were sitting front row at an Adam only concert, I wouldn't bring a camera and I wouldn't be sitting in my seat. I'd be up and dancing and drinking and whooping and hollering cuz I'm sure it would end up being a once in a lifetime deal.

And "JustKaren" Thing is, no one can or IMO, should tell anyone how to be a fan. There are some CRAZY fandoms out there & from what i see, on social media and in the press, Adam's isn't one of them!

I can't imagine any pants being any better/hotter than those OAL pants. He has a few other nice pants....but those and that whole outfit were PERFECT! I do expect some new costumes for this summer...maybe something not quite as hot...temp wise...for those outside festival shows. I'm just now back from lunch and I see a whole vid of THE ENCORE has surfaced. Off to watch....and DL!!!!! It's festivals.. so I hope he will be more casuals.

Just have a question . . . and believe me, it's a friendly one, and not meant to belabor or rehash the conversation of today. In sports, people are able to buy the best seats for an entire season. Every game, they are in the front row or the box seats. No one complains. At the opera or the symphony, people purchase seats for the entire season. Every performance, they are there, in the coveted front orchestra or mezzanine seats. No one complains. At many venues, such as the performing arts center in my city, season ticket holders occupy the 'best' seats for every show. No one complains. I'm wondering why there is such consternation over people who choose to purchase tickets (that are available for EVERYONE to purchase) and be up close to see Adam. Everyone has the equal right to purchase these tickets; we all have to pick and choose where our income goes. I saw Adam four times during TOH tour. I was in the front row once; even though I had VIP for all four shows. I chose to purchase VIP to be close. Everyone has the same choice. Then I came home and went back to work, so I might begin to build a nest egg for a hopeful performance in the future. All this judging. Suddenly, I'm old. I'm going to do what I want to do. I asked Adam "If you see this white hair, will it make you hold back?" "I never hold back!" was his reply. That's good enough for me. Fair point, but I'll bite... Season tickets for sports, opera, symphony, etc. - you're basically purchasing a pass to a different show each time. A season at the opera? You'll see, what, maybe 10 different operas. Sports, your team is playing a different team each time & each time advancing to higher levels of competition. The 'season' is either different shows (opera, symphony) or being able to see the unfolding of a competitive story (sports). Those season passes aren't to the same show, same artist, every time. Also, that season ticket holder isn't flying to multiple countries to see an artist at a venue that holds less than 3,000. The whole point of a world tour for an artist is to connect with different international audiences. The point is to allow locals from all around the world the chance to connect with the artist. In addition, regarding opera, ballet, symphony, etc. - the audience doesn't affect the show the way the audience at a artist's/band's show does. The audience isn't a huge part of the experience at a ballet or opera. They don't affect & interact with the performer(s) on stage like they do at a rock or pop show. To use Adam's phrase - there's no 'exchange of energies'. So, the difference might seem negligible to some here, but, to me at least, that difference is crucial. Appreciate the feedback from both lilly and yourself. It's food for thought. Sports venue 'performances' change, when different teams are playing - and many people will say they attend multiple Adam performances because they are different every time. Adam's story - while not complete - is unfolding, and each performance contains nuances or overt changes (such as a different playlist of songs) that keep us yearning for the videos, periscopes, snapchats. Personally, I'm so glad I was in Phoenix and saw Adam sing 'There I Said It' . . . In Munich, the women in front didn't in any way (that I can perceive) detract from the adoration of the crowd; the 8x11 cards from the crowd were right there. Adam always looks beyond the 'front row' - and the videos of Munich show this. He didn't look down; he looked out, and acknowledged the people there. I've been on stage a fair amount in my life. I've felt the exchange and the spin. In the more 'refined' confines of musical theatre or opera, I promise you the 'exchange' is still there. The front row is only the front row. As a performer, you look beyond the blinding lights. I feel that Adam is just as he says - inclusive - he appreciates the adoration (and the $$) from those VIPs; but, surely there is realization that the 'younger' fans who will carry him to new heights are out there in the crowd, somewhere, raising their arms and believing in him - just like the front row.
