ABSOLUTELY! that's the only reason I know of the place! I have a hard time associating it with anything else...Even seeing the "QAL in Oswiecim" makes me feel sick , just because FOR ME the place itself is so "hard wired" to the horrors of the past... I'm with Nica, QAL in Auschwitz is just incomprehensible to me. If you need to google Oświęcim to learn that this is Auschwitz -it means that it is already forgotten.... The people living in the city Oświęcim denied the existence of the camp and the horrors during the war. They tried to dissociate themselves from what happened from the get go. Seems that they succeeded. This town does not deserve being associated with fun (sorry, this is personal to me - lost many family members there). I'm sure it is not forgotten. I certainly know what Auschwitz was, but I have never heard or seen the name Oświęcim. I'd venture to guess that a vast majority of Americans are not familiar with Oświęcim but are with it's German name, Auschwitz.

It's here, l.macys.com/melbourne-fl hope this link works, I have to make a trip to the city, visit the Macy's store to check what is happening there. Actually, I did not know that such a shop exists in Melbourne. Very rarely I am in the city, but for Adam I'm always in the city without a second thought. Oh dear, Ladymaserati8 that is Melbourne, Florida in the USA not Melbourne, Australia. Sorry.

I don't think I could handle this concert. for the reason that horror/death leaves behind a flavor for me. There is a beautiful church in Santa Fe and I love the old mission churches but when I walked in the place had a feel that turned my stomach. It felt black and swirly. There is a bar near us where they serve the fried fish that DH likes. When I walked in again I felt the same emotions. In the case of the church the local indigenous population was worked to death to build it and were forbidden to use it. The bar was the scene of a fight that resulted in two deaths. So having said that perhaps the Concert can be a start to clean the aura but I'm not sure that can ever happen So you all "thought" I was a little crazy now you know....

I google Macy's store in Melbourne, this is what I got, I have not looked carefully at the map, so I did not know that I were traveling to Florida. Oh boy! Melbourne in the US too.

No, Grandduchess, you aren't crazy. Some people are very sensitive to lingering presences. We know how extremely conscious Brian, Roger and Adam are. I cannot imagine they would do a concert in Auschwitz if they didn't have strong feelings that perhaps some light and joy would be welcomed. If any place could use a hefty dose of joy, Auschwitz would be one IMO. The point would be not to try to erase the fact that many atrocities were committed there, but that in life's cycles, the human spirit can go on.

This is what I wanted to see, Awesome! What a fantastic display! It's huge...if that doesn't get attention, then I don't know what would. Very classy. (Can I just be a poo for a second..I don't usually even enter this zone, but that stray piece of hair hanging down just makes me wanna crawl up there with a comb..#shallowIknow)
