We need QAL asap. I guess technically I'm a grannie since I do have a grandchild, but I'm also Adam's mom age plus a little, and my oldest child is 33. The only sense I can make of the granny comment is that the filter/face swap is geared to turning someone into a not well preserved upper 70s. The rest of the snap is just performance and accent. JUST KIDDING ALERT: I (don't) take offense at Dusty Madrid. My actual son-in-law's name is Dusty. His parents named him that because his father's nickname is Dirt. My Dusty would have no problem with Adam's Dusty. My Dusty pokes fun at his less-than-suburban background via youtube. The granny comment was not made on the latest 'aging granny' snapchats....they are cute and funny. It was made under the sports of the switch up faces a day or two ago...and it was not accidental, it was delayed and purposeful. I actually did not take offence, just expressed my disappointment. It is others jumping in and denigrating my disappointment that I feel offended by....so time to vacate. Have a blast....

OMG Grandma June sooo reminds me of Ms. Doubtfire and I find it all hilarious! As a granny myself (yes, I own it proudly) I am not at all offended. I guess I have a warped sense of humor.
I have shocked the ever-living out of my 20-something hairdresser because of Adam. From showing her the utube of Ghosttown ("he's HOT!!!), videos from his concerts, to talking about some of his funny snapchats (she was amazed I even knew what it was and hoped to hell I didn't actually use it "because it is dangerous" don't you know).
For me, live and let live...

Damn! He is talented . . . is "Grandma June" pathetic? Sympathetic? Sweet? Ridiculous? ( . . . a mirror? I mean, he just referenced "grandmas," so . . .)

What did Adam possibly say to get this reaction from some fans about ageism.. I don't usually care for the snapchats but I LOVED the last one.. He is totally talented.. what am I missing??? I'm 76 ,probably the oldest member of Adamtopia..I dance my way through life and sometimes act immature .. so be it . I have found Adam to be very respectful of those who also show respect for him..I have to say I have met some older fans at live performances who embarraseed me by their pushiness and by acting like older self important, entitled groupies. At Miami Pride they got to the front early pushed their way in and left the younger fans in their dust.. I know for a fact that some young gay folks have sometimes given up getting close to the stage or even going to his shows. Now this may have nothing to do with the snapchat, but these are my feelings that I have hidden for a while. IMHO,Yes if you have the money, the time and love for Adam go to his shows.. but you don't own him,let others also get to experience the joy of seeing him and not turn other fans off . Now I might be off the subject ,but I feel a bit bad for Adam.. He has tried kindness, humor and some entitled older fans could care less and think he's kidding when he's annoyed. I'm not hidding behind any couch either because I'm a proud granny who can laugh at herself and knows not to act like my 15 year old granddaughter. If Adam told me to stop taking videos for the 20th time I would stop taking videos, because I respect him as an artist and It's his show. I certainly wouldn't ignore him and continue taking pictures of him telling me off. That's really hutzpah .Sometimes It's just not about YOU. Rant over.. It was worth it even if I'm kicked off Adamtopia Seriously ... if you suspect you 'may' be off subject, when some have meaningful things to say ... then it is only fair to make sure you are on subject...otherwise this is just another version of 'see how i am old too but not like those loser over-sensitive other fans' syndrome. It was just insensitive and rather ignorant to go back to a pic to comment that all those misunderstanding the tech had to be grandma's. Who and what does he think has learned the technology and supported/promoted him throughout social media so that he now was indeed attracting those come-lately young desirable. Sorry but the gay and young fans are only just now coming around after we nasty grandma's have got him into the spotlight. Did we do it all....of course not. But to be dissed by those who would not come around until he was deemed "cool" and now want us all to disappear because we don't have the "cool" factor....how rude. If some of we older fans are willing to be kicked to the back then that is their prerogative but that does not make ageist comments any more acceptable. Ridiculing other's feelings because you either do not fit the demographic or do not feel the same does not make it any kinder. He has every right to diss us, but it is really thoughtless. This was not a "oops...filter took too long to kick in" this was a delayed, deliberate comment. IMHO, don't think it is that deep. Someone can become irritated at actions of a few but not dismiss the whole. Using the Grandma term is done by all ages toward a person who is not tech savy. I use it for my youngest son who can barely retrieve voice mail.

First time in 7 years Adam has disappointed me. His comment is rude. Not to mention incorrect, from the people who commented originally about the face swap. Many were confused. :( Thank you Patti. I was going to let it pass because not worth having others wave the "Pearl-clutcher" or "PC" accusations at you ... it is totally allowable etc. but it is unkind and unnecessary. I don't know why it is OK to be condescending about anything or one age related. Agism is the last acceptable bias....especially if it is female as well. Not offended, just disappointed and a little surprised. And right after seeing the lovely picture with rpreuer [?]. Why is that funny? Whatever... ETA....for the first time, I confess that I am almost wondering if I have had a lapse in judgment re fan-stanning Adam to this level. We have all put him on some sort of personal pedestal and lately, he has really been treating/referring to fans in a derogatory way...often. Oh he pays public lip service to his "amazing" fans but he clearly does not really value the OG ones like he used to. It is like he is just sick and tired of being nice to all those old dogged fans that have followed and revered him for so long and he wants us gone...as oracle so sweetly states it...from visibility. Just buy the cd's and sit in the balcony where you belong. I'm pretty sure he is using 'Grandma' as not literally grandmas, but figuratively -- like "out of date" or not up to date with the latest stuff. Like in "come on grandma" to a slow driver. In any case, I don't think it applies to people who follow Adam closely online because while some may have grandchildren, the vase majority are not "grandmas." ETA: Adam must be bored -- I think we all need QAL soon!!
