Yes and those are parental or grandparental traits hence, imo, why he used the Grandma imagery to snap back. And there were quite a few comments that deserved a slapdown. I don't know what Adam's motives were with this whole thing, but my first instinct was to laugh and say, "Boy can he ever do accents!" Ok, maybe he is trying to say something about his older fans. And let's face it. His US fan base is older than his international one. His US fans, like me, began with AI and stuck with him with a fierce loyalty. Just look at his meet and greets. He appreciate all his fans, of course, but I don't know what other mid-thirties aged pop singer has as many older fans who flock to multiple concerts and repeatedly fill the front row seats. Maybe it does bother him. I don't know. I'm trying not to interpret this too negatively. He seems to be getting a backlash from it. Maybe he was just trying to be funny and show off his accent skills. Sometimes things aren't that deep. Just to be clear, My comments were speaking ONLY to the Instagram (faceswap lens) drama. The snapchat using the wrinkled old woman filter, to me seems to only coincidently related. It appears to have come out very recently and everyone is playing with it. |

I have a request please? I cannot believe what I lost when my last computer died! I am seeking videos from a performance that Adam did, way back right after FYE, in which the background was trefoils. It is not Rock My Town but in that time frame. I remember people here were at the concert, it was a small crowd. Maybe radio station sponsored? It was my favorite early Adam concert video! Can you point me in right direction? I have searched YouTube till I'm crazed! No trefoils, but could you mean the iHeartRadio live stripped performance? Adam's performance of Fever was just the hottest thing I have ever seen. Oh, I know, he has done it a million times and he didn't kiss Tommy, but that Fever just grabbed my heart and cemented my undying love. He was just unfiltered, sexy and so (word searching in my brain) FREE. As far as the conversation raging tonight, Adam is about to tour with 66 and 68 year old rockers. He knows that Queen's audience skews older....why in hell would he deliberately be throwing shade at older people? I thought the instagram was hilarious and the comment on the face swap instagram was maybe, MAYBE, a little thoughtless. I don't think you can extrapolate an entire scenario about Adam trying to discourage older people from going to his concerts! I do agree about one thing. Some people do think they own a part of Adam and his success and that gives them special rights as opposed to the newly converted, the newcomers. I, as a mega fan, have always wanted Adam to have a successful career but I have no more claim on him or front row than someone who just heard GT or WTTS and decided they like him, too. MOO |

I've no doubt that Adam appreciates his devoted fans that are on the plus side of 50. That said, I don't think it's unreasonable for him to want to look out and see an audience that is full of his own demographic. And fans can and will do whatever they want but I do think there is a bit of competition amongst my demographic (which is women of a certain age) to be front and center and at every meet and greet they can get a ticket for. They take pride in how many times they have managed it. After 7 years I can't entirely blame Adam for wanting to see some different faces up front.

I just do not get the accusation of ageism concerning Adam's SnapChat. Nothing of the sort occurred to me when reading Adam's comment. For one thing, 60% of SnapChat users are 13-34 according to www.snapchat.com/ads . So yea, there is a much greater probability that someone who did not get that this was a SnapChat filter of some sort is in the Grandma age group. I don't even use SnapChat even though I am a computer techi type. And most of my friends my age have difficulty comprehending anything beyond CDs and DVDs. So, I do not see anything wrong with the implication that older people are less likely to get the SnapChat capabilities. And second, we know that Adam absolutely LOVED his Grandma. Here is a video where he describes his Grandma. I think the description fits a lot of his older fans too!!! I think he was just Adam being Adam, hilarious, creative, fun. Since I am old, but not entitled or pushy, I have no need to take offense. I have been to many shows and have not seen any of the obnoxious behavior some describe. As far as who has the front rows and VIPs, if you can afford them, go for it! I can't so I don't. I do resent some of the disparaging, ageist remarks from some of the brattier elements of the fandom, exhibiting their own brand of entitlement, but a simple press of the unfollow button solves that. That being said, casting directors need to see how brilliantly entertaining Adam is and cast him as a nerdy professor on Big Bang Theory, the only sitcom I watch, or as an arrogant drug lord on NCIS:Los Angeles so he can fit filming in and still sleep in his own bed for a change. Now that that is settled, I can read for an hour and still have lights out by 1:00am. |

Big Bang Theory is the only good sitcom on tv :D. Although its declined over the years. Still better then most on tv. I think Adam was just being funny. IF you took what he said personally lol. Well maybe your reaching. And over reaching. w not that deep imo. Its just a snapchat. If I tweeted Adam and he told me you suck! lol. Ah well. Ill get over it, I Don't know if personally. I would think cool Adam Lambert thinks I suck :D.

I do not see that this is in the least be ageism or rude or anything of the sort. And as someone else mentioned, when I first read this comment, I thought is was referring to all the "mothering" & criticism, not anything to do with age per se. If it was some other Instagram, then please post it or exactly what it said so that the rest of us know what is being talked about. P.S. I'm not talking to you directly skaschep.
