there are/were quite a few comments telling him to quit messing with his face (botox), etc. Some quite authoritative and mother henny. the usual ... add in the judgemental comments about the dude he face swapped with being under age and I expect enough was enough. His IG, he can and should say whatever he wants. his 'no filter' is a thing of fandom pride until it comes at you. j/s I don't think this is about age at all. It's about mothering, grandmothering, helocoptering, smothering, overly concerned, micro managing. Anyone of any age or gender can and does do this to him. Yes and those are parental or grandparental traits hence, imo, why he used the Grandma imagery to snap back. And there were quite a few comments that deserved a slapdown. (My comments are referencing the Faceswap Instagram posting) |

I think we should all face up to the fact that the "issue" of visibly significant amount of "older fans" in the US and (somewhat less) in Western EU is not going away and this type of discussion will be flaring up from time to time...
...by now most of us have formed an opinion and no amount of discussion is going to change it...
looks like we have a variety of "typical" approaches:
- older fans helped Adam to be where he is now and so he MUST stay eternally grateful
- older fans should continue their support but never show their face anywhere close to Adam
- older fans should disappear and go back to idolizing Frank Sinatra and Elvis
i guess my point is that this is all pointless at this point... :D

I don't know what Adam's motives were with this whole thing, but my first instinct was to laugh and say, "Boy can he ever do accents!" Ok, maybe he is trying to say something about his older fans. And let's face it. His US fan base is older than his international one. His US fans, like me, began with AI and stuck with him with a fierce loyalty. Just look at his meet and greets. He appreciate all his fans, of course, but I don't know what other mid-thirties aged pop singer has as many older fans who flock to multiple concerts and repeatedly fill the front row seats. Maybe it does bother him. I don't know. I'm trying not to interpret this too negatively. He seems to be getting a backlash from it. Maybe he was just trying to be funny and show off his accent skills. Sometimes things aren't that deep. |

Ok. I'm too excited My youngest son just had a baby girl. Giovanna. First grand baby for us. Yep. A lot of us are grannies  Oh well. I'm so happy everyone is perfect Aww....I am thrilled for you becoming a Grandmother with your precious Granddaughter Giovanna! I had two sons and 3 Grandsons and finally got my Granddaughter.....all of them sweet precious bundles of joy!  |
