Yes and those are parental or grandparental traits hence, imo, why he used the Grandma imagery to snap back. And there were quite a few comments that deserved a slapdown. I don't know what Adam's motives were with this whole thing, but my first instinct was to laugh and say, "Boy can he ever do accents!" Ok, maybe he is trying to say something about his older fans. And let's face it. His US fan base is older than his international one. His US fans, like me, began with AI and stuck with him with a fierce loyalty. Just look at his meet and greets. He appreciate all his fans, of course, but I don't know what other mid-thirties aged pop singer has as many older fans who flock to multiple concerts and repeatedly fill the front row seats. Maybe it does bother him. I don't know. I'm trying not to interpret this too negatively. He seems to be getting a backlash from it. Maybe he was just trying to be funny and show off his accent skills. Sometimes things aren't that deep. He is male, mid-thirties, and a pop star. Of course he wants a younger audience. I bet he never envisioned himself playing to an audience filled with women over 50. He was ready to tour with Demi this summer. That was Plan A. I think that's pretty telling.

After the GaGa/Bowie crapfest, I am a firm believer that these events are no longer to honor the deceased but to stroke someone elses self-important self. Both those women have weighty egos that they could sink an aircraft carrier.

I'm surprised no one has said this yet, but -- how can anyone think Adam disrespects senior citizens when he's about to go out on the road with well-into-their-late-60s Brian and Roger? Seriously, I'm certain Adam intended no insult to his older fans with his Grandma June shtick and his comments about technophobe grannies. At worst, he's guilty of a little bit of stereotyping (and who hasn't been a few times themselves?). And those who habitually go around looking for reasons to be offended won't fail to find them.
Stated by a non-judgmental fan who's pushing 67 herself.

First time in 7 years Adam has disappointed me. His comment is rude. Not to mention incorrect, from the people who commented originally about the face swap. Many were confused. :( I've just arrived and there are several more unread pages so there may be a whole discussion about this that I've yet to get to but I'm replying now because your comment gels with something I was thinking about last night. It struck me that Adam deliberately went back several days and added the grandmas comment. After seeing the absolute joy and jubilation on his face when he was performing in front of a younger, predominantly gay crowd on Saturday I wondered if either consciously or subconsciously he's trying to alienate some of his older fans. Even as an older fan myself, it brings me more joy seeing him in his element as he was on Saturday.

June is hilarious! But she won't stay. She's a snapchat filter. Those are special effects that you can put on your face while using snapchat. They tend to change pretty quickly, some are only available for a day.
And re: the current discussion on ageism, I just want to say that I just really dislike entitled fans, who think they have more right to something (Adam's attention, front row, a picture) than other people. Those can be young, old, male, female, whatever. I vividly remember the 40-something couple who inserted themselves at the front of the queue 15 minutes before doors opened in Copenhagen, while there were loads of others that had waited since 9 am for a good spot. I also remember the teens who pushed and pushed in Hamburg and finally caused me to be behind yet another tall person when the show started.
I was astonished to see the same elderly ladies routinely doing M&Gs at every show. I don't know what Adam thinks about that, I can guess. But they are the ones that have the money, so yeah, logical that they buy the M&Gs. If you don't want that as an artist, be a bit more creative in you VIP options and make some group packages that are cheaper but of which you can sell more.
The thing that irritates me like nothing else is the people who want to mother Adam. And those remarks aren't even directed at me. He should do this, or that, change his appearance, sing something else, change his management, stop promoting other people, why the Botox (this was a remark on the 'face swap' instagram). He is his own person, and nope, he is not perfect. He sometimes comes pretty close, but he is human. And he has to do what he wants and neds to do. He needs the freedom to express himself, to surprise the world, to make mistakes, to make us feel. Much of that freedom has been taken away already because of the level of fame that he has and that he wants and the opinions people form about him because of that. It is mostly inevitable, and a result of his own choices, but I am really fascinated to see unfiltered Adam peek through every once in a while. And I hope we will keep on getting that, even when it means that he might seem a little less perfect.
Just to be sure: this is not directed at a particular person or post, just my general thoughts after skimming through the thread.
