I agree that the catalog is so extensive that they can put together a more diverse set of songs. They have metal rock, rock-a-billy, pop, stadium anthems, southern rock influence and rock operas. Few pop singers can convincingly sing all those different genres, but Adam has a remarkable talent for it. Also, musically, from a composition and structure viewpoint, many Queen songs are more complicated melodically and rhythmically than much of Pop. Dance/house pop is crafted to maintain a specific beat... I think about 130 beats per minute, so that DJs can transition from one song to another seamlessly without disturbing dancers/partiers. Pop is also crafted to have catchy hooks and melodies that repeat in order to be earworms. Studies have shown that the more a melody is repeated, the more people like it. Adam's pop music is crafted to catch the ear of today's radio listeners, club goers, and younger generation. (Yes, I know Adam appeals to all ages, but the music is aimed at the demographic listening to pop music today.)

Additionally, Freddie and Brian were composing for Freddie's voice, ear and range, which were extraordinary. It meant the composer could do much more with melody lines and harmonies. Most Pop singers couldn't begin to handle the repertoire. Or have the stamina and technique to do so night after night without damaging their voice. Some of their music is damned challenging for a vocalist! 

All in all, Adam's artistry gets challenged and stretched and magnified performing Queen music with the masters. For some of us, that makes QAL performances "better". To each their own.
