THEN WHY DID YOU COMPARE NAKIA'S VOCALS TO THOSE OF THE ORIGINAL ARTIST, MR. LEVINE? #MakesNoSense That's what i hate most about his comment. i'm ok w/him saying not heard the song before. that is a cheap shot Levine!! Can't believe I am saying this, but, it is a live show. If we accept the assertion that the comments are not scripted, and if we accept Levine's statements that he really had not heard the song before (unbelievable to us, but, possible if Levine does not pay attention to the pop industry to the extent that our Adam does), then, Levine's statement could be interpreted to mean, "I haven't heard the song before, but I cannot imagine anyone singing it better than you just did." Not a diss, but a praise for the performance. That's all. Regarding Levine voting for the Grammy's, we don't know if he did, do we? And, the members don't vote for all the categories. Didn't Q3 say there is a limit to the number they can vote on? I can imagine that many members just vote for people or categories they are familiar with, not taking their job as raters all that seriously. Heck, the American public votes the same way in most elections. What percentage of American voters research the platforms and records of all the candidates for all the positions on the ballot? I confess that I don't. I can choose to read all kinds of insulting intent into Levine's comments. Or read it as a throw away remark not well thought out or articulated. Made by someone who is not that deep, not that smart, not that interested or immersed in the music scene, but focused more on his own music, his own career, and his own promotion. We stan Adam as deeply as we do because he is extraordinary --- meaning not the regular, run of the mill performer, musician, singer, or person. Just as he "broke" American Idol for me, and set a new, almost unattainable standard for other singers, Adam has consistently demonstrated excellence not only musically, but in personality, intelligence, charisma, and ability to communicate. If we use his characteristics as the benchmark all artists should achieve, the field is gonna be culled to a VERY small number. (But, yeah, I am still pissed at Levine's comments, and have no interest in watching The Voice any more. I CAN be that petty.)

I still say that if Levine acts as if he didn't know that WWFM was on the same Grammy Nominees CD as Maroon 5's "Misery" then he is: (A) an ignorant idiot - OR - (B) he is a lying asshat. I vote (B) ;D

I have to agree with what you are saying Cassie. I just can't get worked up about it. If Adam isn't miffed by it, than why should I be. It was merely a shoulder shrug reaction from me initially anyway. And I still like Levine and Maroon 5.

I have to sleep. I hope (actually I don't hope, I'm sure of it) I will wake up to a funny thread. Ladies and gentlemen behave yourselves if Levine pisses you off, especially those of you who are on twitter (or don't behave- it's better that way) Good night!

SusieFierce Oh, here we go ... RT @rainierstar: Oh no, it's on Perez t.co/JlWzC2k2 minutes ago via Echofon I agree with Perez shockingly...time to let it go. Adam isn't mad and whether you believe him genuine or not, the other Adam apologized sooo....what's the drama? I am cringing at ppl on my feed who will not let it go. There are bigger things to worry about. Srsly, I was miffed earlier today about something but only because I was srsly grumpy and although I didn't do anything about it once Q told me what the deal was I chilled the f**k out and let it go. I don't get it....I really don't. What is there even to be mad about anymore? It wasn't even that big of a deal to begin with...stars slam other stars all the time in much worse ways and we don't even know for sure if this was intentional or not. Getting miffed is fine, it's human and we ALL get miffed (hee love that word) but holding onto it way past the expiration date is not sexy...it's not that deep. *gets off soap box and dodges tomatoes being thrown*

SusieFierce Oh, here we go ... RT @rainierstar: Oh no, it's on Perez t.co/JlWzC2k2 minutes ago via Echofon " Nice to see Adam Lambert being so mature about all of this!Following The Voice semifinalist Nakia's performance of Whataya Want From Me (above), Adam Levine was impressed, but he claimed that he had never the song before. Adam Lambert fans did NOT appreciate Levine's comments, and they lashed out against the Maroon 5 singer on Twitter. Here's what Lambert tweeted about the situation: "Yeah Nakia! Saaaang boy!! Great performance. I think Adam might know who I am after this next album. Get ready for me Levine. Hahah" "But for the record, Im def a Maroon 5 fan." "Fans: there is NO reason to be angry. Thanks for being protective but it's all good. " And here's what Adam Levine tweeted in response to all the drama: "I had honestly never heard that song before. I thought that @nakia made me like a song that would have otherwise fallen flat. I'm NOT sorry." It's def surprising that Levine had NEVER heard that song, but it doesn't seem like he had ill intentions with his comment AND given the fact that Lambert seems to be cool with it, we're thinking maybe it's time for everyone to let this one go."

ITA. This episode should be laid to rest.
It's time to move on the more positive things.

@adamlevine: No disrespect intended for @adamlambert ...I honesty had never heard the song before. I'm not one to take cheap shots like that. Well.. I would like to make some comments. Facts: 1. CeeLo mentioned that he wanted Nakia to sing WWFM by Adam Lambert. 2. WWFM was the Grammy nomination song in 2011, same as one of Levine song. If the member voted for the songs, logically he should've heard the song. But maybe there's no logic when it concern Levine. 3. Both Adam & Levine were on the Grammy night. 4. Last but not least, he said no disrespect to Adam Lambert.. SO he knows Adam Lambert. Now even if he said he never heard WWFM before & back to point 1 where on the clip CeeLo said WWFM by Adam Lambert, he also should've known that the whole WORLD named Adam Lambert as the next Freddie Mercury... or THE VOICE of this Century .. because the World knows Freddie because of his VOICE and RANGE... not the gay singer.. IMO.. * there's NO excuse for him to say that Nakia sang it better than the guy who has THE VOICE OF THE CENTURY. and ** there's NO excuse for him to dish American Idol in the expense of Adam Lambert. That's just not right.. and arrogant... and stoopid America knows that given a chance that both of them singing side by side, America would see very quickly who ACTUALLY has THE VOICE... but then again NBCTheVoice or the producer don't want to embarash their judge. ;D ;D ;D ;D ***** Do we see a Napoleon syndrome here? One arrogant little guy? : : 8-) NVM ****

Ditto cassie. Thank you for expressing my thoughts for me (much better than I can). I've loved reading everyone's comments, rants and opinions on the matter though. And I live under a rock, but have never heard a Maroon 5 song anyway.
OT - NY same sex marriage update. They are expected to vote on it tomorrow afternoon. Having a hard time watching the protestors on the news. One minister just said that if it's approved, the population of NY will shrink drastically because men and men or women and women can not procreate. WTF? Do people really fall for that shit? So the law is going to turn heterosexual people to homosexuals if the law is passed? Sigh.
