www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/tv-film/the-american-idol-afterglow-15-alums-are-1005247142.storyThe 'American Idol' Afterglow: 15 Alums Are on This Week's Billboard Charts June 22, 2011 By Fred Bronson, Los Angeles .... Season eight's victor Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert also appear on this week's Billboard charts, two years after their season finale. Allen, who has three No. 1s to his credit, found his "Live Like We're Dying" song re-surge 39-2 on the Christian Digital Songs chart three weeks ago after performing it on a PBS Memorial Day special. The track has since settled back down, falling 27-46 this week. Lambert's hit single "Whataya Want From Me" moved to recurrent status on the Adult Top 40 charts almost a year ago and topped the Adult Top 40 Recurrents chart in September 2010, where it became one of Lambert's six Billboard No. 1s. Now it's one summer later and "Whataya Want From Me" still ranks No. 18 on this airplay list. ....

OK, warning posting personal analysis process. Please feel free to scroll on by.
A. So, Levine did the right thing. If he is telling the truth (because we know most people in show business do) the judges chosen for The Voice (more specifically Adam Levine) are (is) just seriously less aware of what's going on out there in pop-rock music than I thought.
B. Soooo very hard for me to believe. However, since Adam Levine is a fellow yoga practitioner I will give him the benefit of the doubt. (Because we know all yoga practitioners are highly ethical humans. Brilliant logic I know: -) Maybe, just maybe he is living his yoga a bit and has done some of the requisite work to conquer ego.
C. And, it is not an actual crime for a judge on a show called The Voice to not stay up on the who's killing it out there.
I will stay an Adam Levine fan. Adam Levine, if you are telling the truth, time to pop your head up and look around dude.

Thank you to everyone for the lovely birthday wishes so far today! I do indeed have a big birthday today -- I'm 50 (but inside I'm 35!). Had to share this -- my older sister (another Adam fan--I took her to one of his concerts last year for her birthday) sent me a box for my birthday at work. It came early, but one of the admins grabbed it and wouldn't let me open it until today :( . So I open up the box this morning, and my sister packed "a party in a box" for me -- 50 candles (which she said I could probably stick somewhere), 50 little paper drink umbrellas (so I could have a party atmosphere wherever I go), 5o little chocolate candies and 50 little balloons. In addition, she gave some other fun gifts and a very funny talking card about the problems of getting older. Too funny. I decided to take her party seriously, so I walked around the office and handed everyone a paper umbrella (only a few people requested drinks to go along with). An hour or so later, I saw that about a dozen paper umbrellas had sprouted up along cubicle tops. PARTY! Also nice, my parents sent me flowers and a friend is taking me out for dinner tonight. I must say this has been a pretty painless 50th after all... AND AURORA POSTED A TONGUE GIF FOR ME!!!! Thank you again -- I suppose I should actually get some more work done now...before I go out and put some umbrellas into some drinks!

You just can't say someone sang better than the original artist when you haven't heard the song & artist' voice. He could say "I like your version or the way you sing it" as a compliment to a performance.
Ok. time to move on.

ITA. This episode should be laid to rest. It's time to move on the more positive things. I don't disagree but I intend to have my say before it gets "laid to rest". I wish I watched The Voice so I could say I'm no longer watching it. But I don't so i won't. Actually I ranted a little on twitter and on mj's (yes I went there!) so I guess I'm about ready to move on. One more thing - all 4 judges on the show have had at least one douchey moment. CeLo & Shelton both made homophobic remarks and Xtina has pretty much ignored Adam in spite of his many compliments directed at her. And now Levine. Jeez what's in the water? Ok - now I'm done done.

Okay - Levine's latest tweet satisfies me.
(And it satisfies me much more that Levine evidently came to feel it might behoove him to take to tweeter again to make things . . . more clear. And to refer to Adam Lambert directly.
I like just taking a moment to wonder, why? Was it that Adam Lambert was coming out looking like the prince he is in the gossip/celeb sites, while he . . . was not? Was it that he looked back at what he said and realized some were taking his comments the "wrong way" because, well, they could be taken that way? Might he have watched/listened to any of the twitvids sent to him of Adam Lambert's performances of WWFM?)
Whatever. All's well that ends well. (It has ended, right?)
