Thanks Mia and susiefierce!! love this place. Yes sf that is the show I meant and I also just acquired a dvd recorder .... so that is why I am so late to wanting this. Also, the ferry ride to anywhere from here :-) has no internet access so it would be perfect to have this to watch.
I will try to do it myself, ala Mia, first and if I can't make that work, I will tweet devonlane or terra [not sure I have Terra's tweet but do have devonlane I know.
No time to do it till later this aft but will keep you posted if interested....

Adam has been saying this from the beginning and collabs with Bonnie McKee and Claude Kelly (and Bennie rumors) would certainly be supporting that. From everything I remember him saying, he is finely tuned to what is selling right now and though I think he's going to tweak things to fit his sensibilities and create his own sound, he will keep marketability in mind. I thought his comment at the AI finale when he said, "I need three or four more of those [about WWFM]," was very telling. My personal guess is he's going to do an amalgam of soulful, raw, powerful songs but with driving basslines and undeniable hooks that will account for the "poppiness." ETA: And yes, his voice will be front and center. Thanks for this explanation. When I think "Pop" I think of kesha/katy and I just DNW. He did say his vocals would be more front and center so that doesn't quite fit in with the Top 40 right now so I am confused. Well, he has collaborators who worked with Katy and you can't discount the fact that she KILLED on this last era. Sometimes there are tradeoffs when building a career at the level he wants it. He's still going to make the songs his own; he can't help it. And likely every live version is going to sound different from the album as well. I thought I didn't care for Teenage Dream until I heard it covered on Glee, and I am not even a huge Glee fan, but it sounded so much different. The same song can sound completely different depending on who is handling it. Even if he has to go for a pure pop song for his first few singles, those can cement his place in the industry so that he can play with sound a little bit more, but it is crucial that he break through with this album, and yes, that means pop. It can be pop/rock, and I think he'll have some of that. FYE is a straight-up pop song to me and I love it. He still gave it a unique, sexy edge. Music genres are always evolving though. Again I point to Adele as someone most would not have predicted dominating the pop charts a year ago because she is the antithesis of what was considered "hot." Yet quality won out and the timing of her success bodes well for Adam. She has proven that raw, quality songs with clear, stunning vocals can be popular and "radio friendly."

I was thinking that just the other day when my clock radio woke me up and "Rolling in the Deep" was playing. I thought, Here's a song with a strong melody and lyrics that consist of more than the same five words repeated over and over, sung by a singer who can actually sing without using autotune, and it's been #1 for weeks. Seems like a good sign for Adam! I'm really tired of non-singers having hit records. You might as well just program a computer to sing a song if you're going to manipulate a voice with technology. I want real singers to get their due.

Throwing out a topic of discussion. I was over at another site--ONTD to be exact--and was reading some post about how Britney may switch from Jive to RCA after her next album or something. Of course most of the commenters were all ZOMG NOO!! RCA SUX!!--which, yeah, is not a new sentiment at all. But a lot of them were bemoaning how RCA screwed over (in their opinion) Kelly and Avril and Christina and their albums. So this made me wonder....is RCA a legitimately crappy label, pretty standard label and these were just examples of "shit happens", or they handle male artists better than female artists, or insert other option here.
Not trying to start a tirade on RCA--I am pretty neutral on the matter seeing as how I am not a musical expert here--but I am just curious what the concensus was. I know the concensus at other sites and didn't know if this is a legitimate claim or just bias against RCA due to someone's faves not doing so well.
And pretty sure this is OT since it relates to any issues Adam may have or not have with #2.

Adam Lambert Fan Club: Adam Surprised His Father for Father's Day bit.ly/m5QqqMAdam showed up in San Diego to surprise his dad on Father's Day. He accompanied his dad, Eber and Eber's wife to the Turf Club. While there Adam surprised the other patrons when he got up to sing.
