Well. this fall and winter should be interesting because supposedly all these albums may be released by the end of the year; Kelly Adam Daughtry Kris Danny Scotty Laurin Pia This looks like AI overload to me. I know they will be in different genres, but they are all AI and there will be many of the same buyers purchasing them. Should be very interesting and I bet we see some buyer fatigue. It may not be that bad.... Danny, Lauren, Scotty = Country and Christian buyers = NOT Adam buyers. For the albums that may have a bigger crossover with Adam -- I believe that a big hit album by Kelly, Daughtry, Kris will lift Adam's sales and help him. Daughtry album -- Chris said he hopes to have it out by yearend. So it will most likely be behind Adam's release. I do not know how much connection there is between the AI10 crew and Adam -- but also add James to that list, there will be 4 this year from UMG. But the big UMG Idol news there will be the 2 Kountry Kids. Jordin is also working on an album -- probably a 2012 release but Jive is reported to be pushing for 2011. In any case, I do not think Idol burnout/overload is an issue. And if they release Kelly and Adam close to the same time -- as it now looks like will happen -- it should generate more press for both of them. These are the two pop releases from Idol stars. [Based on the first single, Pia will not be a major pop star and she is not getting the expected reception on the Idol tour so far, but I guess she is the wild card.] Just my guesses -- but IMO the big Idol releases for Fall are now and will continue to be Kelly and Adam. Both are certain to get press and TV coverage. Both are certain to get airplay. Soon will be time for  ! |
