May be Iggy felt more entertained by Beatz. I did. It's not purely a singing competition. The judges made sure it was a tie so it went to the public vote before...that is standard operating mode for these shows...not sure it is fair to dump on an easy target now. The voters clearly did not care for her so it is unlikely she would have made the next cut anyways, is it? It wasn't the song....in her case....she had a great song... I agree, Chynna had a great song, and she sang it really well - but I have never been captivated by her. It will be interesting to see how the results show is going to get tweaked next week...I think I have learned to accept that these type of things aren't always fair. Life in general isn't.

I tuned in midway during my break at Uni and have now caught up with the first part of the show...Brentwood left???!!! Another WTF!!! Sorry, but NO wonder the show is doing awful. Natalie, Brentwood, Chynna...it's just too much... I don't know Iggy and what she thought, but did kind of feel kind of spiteful towards Guy...but who knows... On a lighter note. That scene of Amalia and Adam:...do you know Billie Holiday?...Do you know Etta James?...Do you know Janet Jackson?...You don't know Janet Jackson?!!!...I give up! I had do ROAR!!! Just... I don't think I've heard of Billie Holiday either...but I've heard of Etta James, because Christina Aguilera sang her song "At last" at her funeral...and Janet Jackson...of course... Sigh. Sic transit gloria. Billie Holiday was perhaps the first of the great female jazz singers of the 20th century, influencing all that came after her. Wikipedia says,"Holiday had a seminal influence on jazz music and pop singing. Her vocal style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo." Diana Ross portrayed her in the film "Lady Sings the Blues." Perhaps her most influential song was the deeply disturbing "Strange Fruit" about lynching of black men in the south. www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4ZyuULy9zs

I agree with everything you say. She is a good singer, but I didn't find anything unique about her. And if I were to go with a big-voiced gal, I would have gone with Natalie. Heard people like her before (e.g. Jessica Sanchez, etc.) but I thought Natalie was sweet and gorgeous. I actually liked the dance song she did...few pitchy spots...but overall I thought she looked and sounded great.

I'm reminded of this controversy back in the first season of XFactor USA. Thirteen years old Rachel Crow had never been in the bottom 3, let alone 2 but her competitor Markus was third time in a row in the sing off and was ready to go home. Then this happened; www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq59-4EmSsw&index=2&list=RDre1FBMEUCkwNicole was booed off the stage and even got death threats. She later said she regretted not making a judging decision to keep Rachel.

Adam continues to impress me with his devotion to and knowledge of his craft of singing. I remember the guy who interviewed Adam before his audition for AI saying that Adam knew all these groups, some of them very obscure. He seems to know every pop group and singer since before he was born. And now, he demonstrates a knowledge of classic jazz singers who would not have been part of his parents' music collection. I also recall that his voice teacher, Lynne Bowles, said she introduced him to all the great female singers and gay icons.
Adam doesn't have a formal music education, but his knowledge is impressive.

I have been quickly in and out here since Saturday because I had my beautiful sweet Grand daughter with me and I want to thank you, Skaschep, for the whole show's video!! I am Soooo glad Adam's 'kids' both made it through again!! I really think Vlado should have gone home FIRST...I mean come on...he was REALLY TERRIBLE both in vocals and performance style. It's stuff like this where the 'teenies' monopolize everything that makes people sign off/not watch these types if shows. I was really surprised at the end of the video when the rest of the contestants were hugging and saying good-bye to Chynna that Davey just stood up front by himself away from the group kind of pimping himself. If it was suppose to be funny...I was not laughing.

FB from one of Disturbed...John Moyer. Adam mention Today Tokyo tomorrow Sydney. As much as I would have enjoyed another night in Tokyo we are leaving a day earlier than originally planned to perform Sound of Silence on Australia's X-Factor (tv show). The judges include Adam Lambert (yes I am a fan. Just watch his performance of One by U2 when he was on American Idol) and Iggy Azalea (who strangely enough I actually referenced when coming to Tokyo). Long flights and little sleep but exciting nonetheless. www.facebook.com/JohnMoyerOfficial/posts/1127046770749272
