Adamme, thanks for posting the Kidd K vid. I do remember seeing that before. I don't think his comments were referring to funding the tour, however. I assumed he was talking about having to pay the band and dancers, and maybe some others, who are listed as his "employees" in the great scheme of how funding works. ( Much like my son's band must pay the additional musician they take on tour, plus their driver/sound person.) I think of "funding the tour" as money up front. It is true, apparently, that because he wanted and band and dancers his expenses were higher. peace&love Listen to the beginning of this interview |

I have to go -- I do not recall what Adam said in that Kidd Kraddick interview -- but was it something like "we funded it" vs. "I"?

KK does say that he knows Adam risked his own money. Wish I knew more - not that it matters, it's just curiosity. Helps me know more about the music biz, and I have a son in a band so I'm always interested. (Even though small label indie is pretty darned different from major label...) I know in my son's band's case they risk their own money in that when they start out they run up bills for travel, motels, money owed to their other touring musician, etc., but then pay those bills off as money comes in. And, of course, they have to pay themselves last, so there is always risk. But they do not act as promoters. I'm sure I'll learn more in bits and pieces over time. peace&love |

I may have to turn in my stan card for this one, but where and when did Adam say he wanted a house with dimmers? Had to be pretty early on, I'm thinking, and I must have missed it. But we always say he needs his dimmers and I have no idea where that came from! I don't remember WHEN he said it but I heard it and it was so cute!! Can someone give me link to MJ's so I can read the negative comments? I'm feeling petty tonight and want to indulge myself. |
