HSM - I'll need to have a "Lonkero" lolly, please. In honor of Sauli coming to Canada, I will need to *suck* on a Finnish tradition - - "Lonkero" - drink made of gin and grapefruit soda; in a tall glass; also referred to as a "tentacle" (??) - - and one who may imbibe this, or may be referenced to this, can be known as "a tall drink of water". (Hmmm . . . Adam???) Lonkero!!! *slurp!* Oh, Canada!! Only a few more days!!! You can say I am 'drunk' with anticipation!! Sauli is coming to Canada??

Hmmm..... a "Lonkero" lolly is interesting, and probably a good one to try out on concert day, but I need something more Canadian to be the "official concert lolly". C'mon guys!!! THINK!!! My fallback position is a "Molson" lolly....and I'm not that fond of Molson! Carefully of those Canadian beer favour lollys. Our beer is stronger!

Lolly should be Maple flavor Hmm.....but is there a liquor that is maple flavored? I like maple candy (growing up near the Canadian border, I ate a lot of it), but it never screams..."party"...to me.

He would need a visa, wouldn't he? Could he get one here?

Found this... Sortilège Maple Liqueur Published on Monday, August 11, 2008, by Amy Wisniewski
I enjoy strong cocktails—the kind without cloyingly sweet, second-rate mixers—and I especially enjoy exotic liqueurs. My current favorite is a blend of Canada’s two best exports: whisky (no, it’s not spelled with an e) and maple syrup. In a combination that could have been really awful, Sortilège is anything but.
The maple syrup flavor takes the spotlight, while the whisky keeps the sweetness in check. Sortilège’s hints of brown sugar and caramel add dimension to bourbon- and brandy-based drinks, and remind me of warm holiday spices. Use the liqueur as a surprise ingredient in predinner cocktails, as a postmeal dessert sipper, as an ice cream topper, or in a boozy sauce to accompany your next bread pudding.
ETA - Ohhh! and a translation of sortilege is... n. charm, spell, fascination; combination of words used as a magical charm, sortilege, predicting the future by drawing lots; witchcraft; supposed practice of magic; sorcery

Can I pop in for a second to do some completely pathetic moaning and groaning? :-[ I'm currently surrounded by millions (okay, maybe not MILLIONS, so I tend to exaggerate a little, you got a problem with that?) of half-packed boxes as I'm getting ready for the big move up to the northeast for ten months. It was 105 degrees today (making it the 39th day this summer to hit triple digits in Austin) which is NOT good packing weather, especially when you're moving shit up to the unairconditioned, uninsulated attic on a rickety ladder, let me tell you. I'm stressed about leaving the house to an unknown family of four who are renting it (and who include that destructive force of nature known as a four year old boy *gulp*). I'm stressed about what the doggie is going to make of our weeklong road-trip to NYC during a heatwave. I'm stressed about what she'll make of living in manhattan in a tenth-floor apartment (though she's a dog, she'll deal). The husband and I just managed, I kid you not, to get into an actual fight about whether or not it was worth preserving in the attic for a year a half-empty sticky bottle of children's tylenol syrup, and we don't even have a child!!!! You know, we should keep it, just in case we unexpectedly spring a kid : ! (where the fuck did that bottle come from? no idea! where's it going? into the garbage can! *take that, hubby*). And I'm stressed because this whole fucking move is happening right at the beginning of the ADAMSTORM, and I'm gonna probably barely get a glimpse of the Canada vids, miss the BTM, and hardly be able to even lurk for the first ten days of AUGUST. *repeats to herself: I WILL NOT PANIC. I WILL NOT PANIC.* UGH AND THERE ARE BOXES EVERYWHERE Okay, it's okay, i've pulled myself together now. ps--if i put myself in a box will somebody ship me to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts ??? PRETTY PLEASE!!!
