I have a recipe!
'Canadian Whiskey Sour"
1oz fresh lemon juice 1oz Canadian Maple syrup 1oz Canadian Rye Whiskey
Ice - preferably from an icicle hanging from the roof
stir briskly and enjoy!
- lollies can be made, once the ice is melted!
BTW - a Whiskey Sour is the first 'hard liquor' cocktail I ever had - at age 19, with my DH in Honolulu, where he was on R&R from Vietnam - - -
And, Seoulmate, Penelope is almost 5 months old now, and her uncle calls her 'Penelope-Jelly' because she is so healthy, jiggly and chubby!!! Gorgeous!!

Hmmm..... a "Lonkero" lolly is interesting, and probably a good one to try out on concert day, but I need something more Canadian to be the "official concert lolly". C'mon guys!!! THINK!!! My fallback position is a "Molson" lolly....and I'm not that fond of Molson! Well, I found this beer that's made in Quebec: La Fin du monde = end of the world????? Hmmmm.....potential, potential. Excellent color for lolly matching. Looks yummy. However, is there something else local that maybe has...um...a less forboding name?

Sauli is coming to Canada?? How could Sauli go to Canada. He would need a visa, wouldn't he? Could he get one here? Not sure why he couldn't go to Canada? Pretty sure Finns are allowed in Canada too LOL.

Sauli is coming to Canada?? How could Sauli go to Canada. He would need a visa, wouldn't he? Could he get one here? Sauli said he was taking a trip this week in his last blog entry. People are assuming (and hoping, lol) that he meant Canada. And people with passports from the US and the EU don't need a visa to get into Canada- just their passport.

Found this... Sortilège Maple Liqueur Published on Monday, August 11, 2008, by Amy Wisniewski
I enjoy strong cocktails—the kind without cloyingly sweet, second-rate mixers—and I especially enjoy exotic liqueurs. My current favorite is a blend of Canada’s two best exports: whisky (no, it’s not spelled with an e) and maple syrup. In a combination that could have been really awful, Sortilège is anything but.
The maple syrup flavor takes the spotlight, while the whisky keeps the sweetness in check. Sortilège’s hints of brown sugar and caramel add dimension to bourbon- and brandy-based drinks, and remind me of warm holiday spices. Use the liqueur as a surprise ingredient in predinner cocktails, as a postmeal dessert sipper, as an ice cream topper, or in a boozy sauce to accompany your next bread pudding.
ETA - Ohhh! and a translation of sortilege is... n. charm, spell, fascination; combination of words used as a magical charm, sortilege, predicting the future by drawing lots; witchcraft; supposed practice of magic; sorcery YES !!!!!!!!This is PERFECT!!!!!!!Drum roll please...........

MWP, I think it is safe to say that a half empty bottle of children's cough medicine has no place in an Austin attic. Moving is a bitch, I know, but you will survive and thrive so hang in there.
The house will be OK, the drive will be OK, the hubby will be OK, and the dog will be OK. Breathe.
Most importantly (to me anyway) you will be OK. Breathe again.

Getting ready for this concert is exhausting I feel so sorry for you....not jealous at all. Seuolmate... Adam has to cover GNR at some point right? Gahhh.... About the band not learning any new songs for the concert. Reminded me of a Prince interview I just read. www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/jun/23/prince-interview-adele-internetTouring is where the money is these days, of course, but it also seems to be where his heart is He describes himself as a "loving tyrant. I'm probably the hardest bandleader to work for, but I do it for love." His band have rehearsed around 300 songs, from which Prince can choose at whim, which makes playing live more fun that it used to be. . 10,000 people???!!!! And if Sauli does go it will be his first time seeing Adam perform? Hopefully he will provide some extra inspiration. 8-) OMG what a thought! Sauli may be there to provide inspiration?? We'll push him to the front! lol...
