Of course, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, and Adam, who is Pharoah's "person", truly knows and will will apply his best judgment tempered with love in making the best decision as to whether to take Pharoah on the upcoming tour. Incredible numbers of dogs go on the show circuit or just to local shows year after year, and a great many of them are primarily family pets. Taking a show circuit absolutely can involve as long a time in a given year than this upcoming Queen + Adam Lambert tour. Over the course of thirty years, I have "belonged" to a variety of mastiffs and Maltese, some of which were rescue or pet quality.. Additionally, over the years, I had several show quality dogs who were shown, either by me or by a handler whom they utterly adored. And, no, I did not show them for breeding purposes: in all of my show years, I bred only one dog and him only one litter.. All of my mastiffs have had at least two beds of their own, huge toy baskets, slept in the bedroom with us, etc.... In my experience as well as that of several other of my friends in the show world, some of who had other, traditionally more excitiable natures, your dog will "tell" you in no uncertain terms if being out in the show world is "for" them or not. Both friends of mine and myself have pulled dogs immediately upon ascertaining that the show world was not for them. If it became clear that Pharoah was not suited for such a lifestyle, then Adam could certainly send someone out to take him back to CalIfornia. In any case, being rather new to the thread, I guess these types of discussions about what Adam should or should not do with some aspect of his life tend to come up during less busy times. It is evident that Pharoah is as much Adam's baby as possible. Surely then, using his own judgment and perhaps seeking out the advice of others, Pharoah will have what is best for himself. Sorry š that this post is so lengthy; I meant to post just a few sentences about the hundreds anf more of dogs who, throughout much of the world, do travel, extensively and with no harm to their well-being. I mean no offense to anyone.

The only problem with being the pet nanny is that you don't get to go to the concerts!!! As much as I like dogs and as much I think Pharaoh is a really good dog, I'm not so sure that taking him on tour is a good idea. Dogs like routine. They have to be taken care of on a trip. He'd have to be taken out for potty breaks and walked and fed. Adam isn't always available to do that on tour. And also, we know Adam often likes to go out on the town in the evenings after a show when he's on tour. Adam would have to have someone along on tour to take care of Pharaoh when he isn't around. I think Pharaoh would be happier at home with a dog-sitter or maybe at a kennel that boards dogs. He seems like he gets along with other dogs okay. I think Adam would be lot calmer knowing Pharaoh is being taken of just fine at home. JMO, of course. Maybe they could have Skype visits! Just to add to this, Adam is on a gig where he has to be at his best. Concern about Pharoah could take his focus off. Idk, but I trust Adam to make an informed decision.

I just want to say too, no kennel! What about his dog staying with a friend or family. I know Eber has a dog, didn't they tweet about a play date?

Dogs don't belong on tours period! Why not? I am a crazy dog lady.... ask anyone who knows me. I do my best not to "inflict" non-dog lovers with my obsessions (8 of them currently), but when I have to leave them for several days I miss them terribly. And, judging by their reaction when I return home, I think they miss me, too. When I am home, despite having free access to the back yard thru a doggie door, 90% of the time, all the puppies are in the same room as me. They cry if I go to the bathroom and close the door. It may be much simpler for Adam to have a dog sitter at home while he is on tour, but if he wants Pharaoh with him, there are ways to make it work. Adam has remarked about touring being lonely at times. Pharaoh would be a big help with that. As long as dogs are with their special person/pack leader, they adapt to changing circumstances well. I f Adam can bring a stylist, a vocal coach, a personal chef, or a fitness trainer on tour with him, he can certainly arrange for a dog nanny to accompany him on tour. If Pharaoh is as bonded with Adam as it looks from photos, Pharaoh will be happiest being with Adam as much as possible. Cassie, Agree! So many hotels are pet friendly now too. Our dog goes almost everywhere with us. He doesn't fly with us because he is too big. But if we could charter a private plane, oh hell ya! he'd be with us flying too! I much prefer having him with us, than having a dog sitter. No one takes care of our dog the way we do! Oh, and he loves to travel. As Cassie also said, our dog hates when we leave him. I am sure what ever decision Adam makes, it will be the right one for Pharaoh. No one knows Pharaoh better than he does. ETA: phronni7 ! Love your post!

I have 1 dog who loves to travel and 1 who howls continually while in a car. When I go visiting my grandchildren, I take Bodie and leave Hutch with a dog sitter he adores, and who spoils him to the ends of the earth. They both love the special attention of being the 'only child.' You just have to 'listen' to your dogs, and they will let you know if they like to travel.

It's a dog, he is not the second coming of Christ or something. People take along their children on tours and to movie sets, etc. Certainly can be easily managed with a dog. This ain't rocket science. ITA Most dogs are fine traveling. Adam's knows Pharaoh and I am sure will do what is best for Pharaoh. I am interested in what happens but whatever happens I bet that Pharaoh does not go to a kennel. Many alternatives to kenneling a dog in West LA -- lots of pet sitters in LA who specialize in celebrity pets, and Adam has tons of trusted friends.
