I don't know if approval has taken place yet, but I will ask."

I think I'm going to wait a few weeks to see whats up with the new membership packages .
I still haven't received my photo either..:(.

But you are most likely right that they are on the same page. I just do not think you can compare 'made in America' relationships between heterosexual couples with a young gay man in a strange country on a temporary visa. apples and oranges..... it is a very lopsided relationship and Sauli has to feel a little insecure at times, regarless of private committments. Private only goes so far....after all....isn't that a recurring 'gay' theme...the discussion we just had the other day...the ability to be open about our relationships and affections? Marriage

Sauil's immigration status? - not a good reason at all IMHO...

I am for ADAM in a free and loving relationship!

I agree. It's much too soon for talk of marriage and I see little to be gained by marrying at this point of his life. If they are still together in a few years, it would be different.

Im hoping that with each generation this will happen more and more. I know in my daughters circle of friends that a person's sexual perferance is not an issue, it is just part of who they are.
But at the Idol concert this year, I was sitting next to a woman and her 19 - 20 year old daughter. The daughter was telling me some of her favorites from previous years. The first one she mentioned was Adam and how much she likes him. Then her next statement was "Too bad he turned out to be gay". I asked her why she thought that way because I feel that Adam is an incredible person and being gay is a part of who he is. I went on to mention that Adam has an exceptional talent and we are so fortunate that he will be sharing with us with amazing music to come from his next album. There has been other singers like Elton John or Melissa Etheridge who also gave us great music who happened to be gay Or others like Beyonce or the beatles (her choice) who happened to be straight. This is their talent and gift that they are sharing with the world. Her mother agreed with me. So hopefully that was food for thought for her.
I also asked if she had seen Adam in concert since Idol? She said no. I told her to look up interviews and performances on You tube, that she was in for an enjoyable, enlightening and fun experience. I mentioned that Adam was my all time favorite for so many reasons and will always be.

Magazines don't always quote their interview subjects correctly. Adam might have said "I don't see myself getting married in the near future" or Adam himself might have accidentally left out the "near" even if that's what he meant. Not saying that Adam should want to get married; just pointing out that it wouldn't be the first time he was misquoted.

I have to take issue with those who say marriage doesn't matter. The reason the LGBT community is fighting so hard to overturn discriminatory laws is that marriage does matter from a legal standpoint. Partners who are not legally married cannot make decisions for each other should one of them become incapacitated. They can't visit their sick loved ones in the hospital in some cases. They can't automatically inherit property. They can't file a joint tax return.

Marriage exists to establish a legal relationship where there is no blood relationship. It's kinda like adopting each other. It's not legalizing sex or love--both of those things can happen just as easily outside of marriage. It's just a legal recognition of a couple's rights as they apply to one another.
