Rihannasu, I've always been under the impression that he is adjusting his monitors, not rubbing his ears. He adjusts them constantly. Will watch OOL again, but it looks like he has a volume control on them, because he uses a thumb and index finger to tweak. ETA: I think he is trying to muffle the crowd noise at the beginning of OOL and transitioning from full-band to acoustic. I don't think there is a volume control on the ear monitor itself. That would be on the transmitter pack that he wears on his back under his shirt. mostly the volume level is controlled from the sound board in my understanding. Yes he does adjust his ear monitors a bit but this was almost continous during the intro and seemed much more of a nervous reaction fiddling than usual. Plus he has done the same ear rubbing pinching thing in interviews when he is nervous usually when making risque comments that may not go over well. I know there are many layers of sound control, the most important being the actual sound tech, but because Adam does continually touch his monitors, I thought there might be something the artist can do on the monitors themselves as another layer of control. I rarely see him fiddling with his body pack (lol, like Tommy was in the GNT DVD where it looks like he's scratching his ass). Yes, Adam definitely does rub his ears at times in interviews, etc. He did it famously at the end of TOMT, but I just watched the TALC OOL and I still think he is adjusting his monitors, not exhibiting nerves. At the beginning, he fiddles with and seems to adjust the wire on his right ear. The he adjusts his left-ear wire, then he takes the right monitor out altogether. Then he doesn't touch them at all until about 5:40 (except to scratch his right ear very quickly) when he very deliberately starts fiddling with the wire or something at the top-front of his ear after his hand had been very still. Kanadie, Halp!!

I wonder how many management companies he met and interviewed before he decides to choose this one?
I remembered when Michael Phelps 9yo (I think), his manager now asked him what did he wants to achieve? At that age he said he wanted to give to swimming as much as the swimming gave him .. or something like that I have to look for the videos again. So pretty sure they asked him what he wants to achieve and they will tell him what they can do to help him reach that goal. ;D

When I think of "freak flag", I always think of this song... The lyrics might ring true to some of what is going on in Adam's life. Of course, he is probably coming from a totally different place and I should probably look "freak flag" up in the Urban Dictionary just to educate myself. After I read Lindsay's article I told Hubby that Adam might have a song called Freak Flag and wasn't that a cool song title. He immediately said that reminded Him of Jimi Hendrix's song " If 6 Was 9" (He's a big Jimi Hendrix & Led Zeppelin fan) Yeah) (Sing a song, brother) If the sun refused to shine, I don't mind, I don't mind. (Yeah) If the mountains fell in the sea, Let it be, it ain't me. Got my own world to live through And I ain't gonna copy you. Now, if 6 turned up to be 9, I don't mind, I don't mind. If all the hippies cut off their hair, I don't care, I don't care. Did, 'cos I got my own world to live through And I ain't gonna copy you. White-collar conservatives flashing down the street Pointing their plastic finger at me. They're hoping soon my kind will drop and die, But I'm gonna wave my freak flag high . . . HIGH! Hah, hah Falling mountains just don't fall on me Point on mister Buisnessman, You can't dress like me. Nobody know what I'm talking about I've got my own life to live I'm the one that's gonna have to die When it's time for me to die So let me live my life the way I want to. Yeah . . . Sing on brother, Play on brother . . .

Susie and Rihannsu, I blame you both for forcing me to watch TALCs OOL yet again! I have noticed Adam touch/scratch/rub his ears at times, (not the same kind of touching while performing) though I've seen it in interviews not performances. Yes, it does seem to happen when he's being a little playful with a comment or shy over a compliment. Under careful observation and scrutiny ;D, I do agree with Susie on this one. Adam's monitors seem to bother him and/or need adjusting often. I'm sure we all remember him fiddling with them plenty during the GNT and other performances and we've seen him remove them at times. I remember reading conversations here about it too. I think this was the case during the intro to OOL. Rihannasu, I do respect your posts and often agree with what you're saying. My feelings differ with yours this time, however. I can't say I see nervousness in Adam. I do see excitement and lots of happiness. I'm not saying you don't see these things too, you probably do. Knowing he was performing, for the first time, a song he wrote from an album he's working so hard on in front of literally thousands of his fans must have felt a little overwhelming. Even for level headed, cool and calm Adam! The anticipation of the reception, from the day it was decided he would premier it, was probably pretty intense. I think that is what we saw. A combination of excitement, anticipation, wonder, joy to finally be performing something brand new to his audience, and happiness in feeling the love from the crowd. Just my two cents! :D

I have nothing to base this on other than the fact that Gaga's image is NOT posted all over LA, although she does get played a lot, but... I think Gaga may be all over NYC because she is from NY. I have heard interviews with her and NYC DJs and they treat her like she is a god!

I watched the 3 previews of BTM and can't recall anything about GNT. I hope they gave some time to his extraordinary (and very successful) tour. Maybe I was in a trance though. It happens. :D
LindaG23 - Thanks for the info about the pic I posted. I adore his look there & was thinking of maybe changing my avi. But no - not for that show where they blurred his "kiss" photo. Holding a grudge.
Hoping for a Freak Flag song!!! In vain probably.
