Most of the effect of Adam's management change will be behind the scenes -- things that fans never see or know about. If 19M is trully disbanding, I wonder if Lane will stay in another capacity or move to a different company? What do you think, Q3? I'm thinking she will look for another job. It will be kind of weird to not see Lane with Adam during promos. I have no idea what will happen with Lane -- except that I am pretty sure everyone from 19M who is left there (there are not many left) will go somewhere else. Lane can certainly get a job but I would not be surprised to see her still working for Adam. I do not expect to see Roger with Adam any more. But like everyone else I am just guessing.

Drive-by commenting:
Adele doing country? I can see how rockabilly and bluegrass would appeal to her and go well with her voice, her style of singing is fairly throw-back-y so roots music would be beautiful. I be surprised if she's gonna be busting out very commercial/modern country. (But then again, with A Band Called Perry and Lady Antebellum getting airplay on top 40? Maybe this is another musical division that is breaking down?)
I agree strongly with rihannsu, NoAngel, and others. It's important for Adam to be able to talk about his orientation on his terms - and the BTM clearly is intended to do that. Also, the celebration and support of the lgtb media community is probably personally important to him. So I think it's important that the gay media talks about him and his identity as a gay person as well.
It's been a long time since I've seen a marginalizing "openly gay" reference to Adam at least in the US/european press, only celebratory ones, so I really feel that we have come a long way.
Additional young fans? He has a huge amount already, they just hang out at other Adam online sites that are a more comfortable fit (not here or AO for example). Two thoughts (just IMO):
1) He needs really really really good songs. I may be generalizing, but I find among my friends and younger, they aren't so interested in a great voice regardless of context. They like all kinds of voices from autotuned, to gravel and grit to ethereally beautiful as long as it serves the music. (this goes for any age fan really).
2) For a certain segment of the the under 25's or 35's like tigerlily says, "It's simple-continue to get hits on Pop radio."
3) Tell me what kind of music a young person is listening to, and I'd be willing to make a guess as to why they haven't heard of Adam. Yes, a lot is regional radio airplay. But some is based on indie music snobbery and a rejection of all things idol/middle America. Most college students I know tend to be hipsters into indy music, and if they have heard of Adam, aren't particularly interested in checking him out based on what they currently know about him (former idol).
nica575 I remember my ivy league alma mater wanted Mary Chapin Carpenter to play at graduation, as she was an alum, but the student body had almost no country-music listeners so wasn't happy about this at all despite her Grammy awards. I couldn't see the same school having enough Adam fans currently to invite him either. I think all this may change with future albums and tours though.

My DD will be a freshman in college this coming year. All of her friends know who Adam Lambert is. WWFM was performed at the high school talent show this year. She is attending a large state school and she had a 3 day freshman orientation in June. The group leaders, who were older college kids, did a cute little dance routine to a mash up of 3 dance songs. Guess what one of them was? IIHY!!! They also used Katy Perry's "Firework". How does Adam keep this age interested in his music? It's simple-continue to get hits on Pop radio. It's true...some kids do not like pop music at all (just like adults). If they are into indie rock they will often look down on pop.....so it's not usually age as much as preference. Many college stations are indie....shrug I think Adam might have a hard time appealing to the kids that don't like Pop music at all or look down on it. He probably appeals more to the younger crowd that likes KP, Kesha, Gaga, BEP's, etc. There are still plenty of college kids that enjoy Pop music- they love to have something to dance to! True. Just look at all the young fans that attended the GNT. They may not have been the majority of the audience, but there were still lots of them in attendance!

Having read through all the posts here and on other boards about Adam's change of management...I think I'm going to conclude that it's a good thing. All I know for sure is, I trust Adam's judgement where his own career is concerned. OT - but I've just recently started "coming out" as a full-on Adam stan to my friends and family :-)...and had no idea that my mother is a fan as well. I know she's always admired Adam, and has always been a vocal defender of him whenever the AMAs are raised, but beyond that...my mother is 62 and doensn't care to learn how to use the internet, and has no interest in music. So, imagine my surprise when, at a family birthday party at our house last night (my aunt), my mother, out of hte blue, says..."show us some Adam videos from your concert!!" Um..OK!! We have a bluray, which means we can watch youtube on our flat screen in the family room, complete with surround sound...so I called up the TALC videos and we were off and running!! I think I just converted 6 women into Adamland, ages 20-70, :-). They LOVED him. Everyone knew who he was, of course, and the 26 year old was already a fan, but it was so much fun to indulge in Adamstanning with a group instead of online only. My mother thinks he's smoking hot. In her words, he reminds her of Elvis, in looks, in charisma, in "naughtiness", but she admits he blows Elvis away vocally. I forsee much video viewing with my mom in the future. :-) Avari - hahah! yay!

I used to have my membership set so that it would send me an email when a new post appeared on the vocal masterclass thread. It no longer does that. I looked for a place where I could set a preference for notification of postings on certain threads which I am interested in, and could not find where that was possible.
Anyone know what I am talking about?

What, if anything, does it mean that Adam is back in LA? Do we think he was meeting with RCA about final selections for album #2? Getting the go ahead? Or still doing recording? Any ideas?

rabbitrabbit... .1) He needs really really really good songs. I may be generalizing, but I find among my friends and younger, they aren't so interested in a great voice regardless of context. They like all kinds of voices from autotuned, to gravel and grit to earethelly beautiful as long as it serves the music. This comment hits the nail on the head for my younger family members. I know for a fact they do not enjoy music for the voice perfection, talent etc. But.........the production and lyrics do seem to make a difference to them. Since I have started following Adam so closely, I have started to pay more attention to their opinions on how they decide if they think a song has a great hook or catchy beat. So far, I have decided that it truly is a crap shoot. For sure I have noticed if radio plays it over and over they are more likely to download it. (That being said, embarrassed to say one out of three buys the song.) What the hell is wrong with the younger generation? One of the three makes an extremely good living and he is the worst. We have had many discussions regarding his NOT paying 99 cents to download from iTunes. His response, NOT valid in my opinion..........musicians & athletes make an obscene amount of money compared to most people. I have pointed out to him that his parents did not raise a thief either!!!!!!!!!! :

You could tweet to contribute to a trending effort, unless your account is locked. As long as you include the hashtag phrase somewhere. From what I hear, it's best to have it somewhere embedded in the middle of other words.

He lives there ;D (Ya, that was sarcastic, sorry!) I'm not Q3, but I would say all of your guesses are proably why Adam was in NYC. And we know he was recording because of all the tweets about Benny Blanco. I'm going with Q3's assessment that he was working on & wrapping up the single.
