Great special with a few new pictures (footage of Adam singing when young--yay!) and a bit of new footage in the studio. The part I really enjoyed (aside from gazing at Adam and drooling of course) were the bonus clips. He really is very unguarded--and I like the fact that they used the uncut footage, too.
I think I will just play BTM over again.....a few dozen times...

Ten 18yr old girls staying in family room for the night. Three 15yr old boys staying in living room. Assorted other overnight guests left over from grad party... all sober. All of that means no reviewing DVR or re-watching VH1 tonight because TVs are taken, grrrrrr.
Thought Adam was perfect and loved the show but resented not more time spent on GNT and new music. Have to whine about that. I can't wait until tomorrow to watch again.
Have to mention Sauli's blog. I'm sorry, but cannot say enough about how cute, honest, and funny he is when he talks about things. You could almost feel his trepidation about the whole show experience. I hope he had Adam to hang onto because he sounded on the verge of a freak out.

Of course, I would not be totally satisfied unless this was an 8 hour series. There is so much to say about Adam that we didn't get. I wish they had...... you fill in the blank.
Having said that, this was a total win! It was behind the music, so they didn't focus at all on his amazing vocals, BUT, they showed them. We got Mad World, BTBW, Aftermath, and acoustic WWFM, among others. If people had their ears on, the point was made. Here is a great voice.
As everyone is saying, Adam talks great! Open, honest, confident yet humble, quick to share that delightful laugh, uninhibited, yet appropriate. Classy.
I also enjoyed the juxtaposition of the many tow-headed, freckle faced kid with the OTT Glam performer. They stripped away the "persona" that many non-stans think is all that Adam is, and showed him as a person who happens to be a flamboyant performer. So different from certain other artists.
And talk about an affirmation for all the kids who feel like outsiders, geeky, awkward, scared. To see pics of Adam as a "geek", to hear him talk honestly about being scared, being depressed, and then to see him embrace himself proudly, but with no ego. To see this well put together, handsome, black swan achieving his dreams, and encouraging others to embrace who they are. I hope that kids do tune in for its wonderful message, so much more full of impact because it is genuine, not manufactured.
Until we can get the 8 hour bio, this will do.

If Adam had been upset or embarrassed about forgetting Brian's name, he could have had them re-shoot or delete the clip, so I will chill out about it. |

Actually, didn't I hear him say something about "reshoot" right after the first "shit"? But i imagine they did clear the clips with him. It was clear that it was just a momentary brain freeze, that he did know Brian, and was impressed with him. It's all good. |
