I completely forgot to share my Adam fan story from the other day. I had a dentist appointment Wednesday and happened to wear one of my Adam t-shirts. The dental assistant came in and touched my shoulder saying "Oh, I love him." Cue me being my usual clueless self before remembering I'm wearing Adam. ;D So we start talking and she is NOT an idol viewer but her in-laws were huge idol fans and kept insisting she and her husband really needed to watch this guy on season 8. She pretty much ignored all that but the in-laws were at her house on Mad World night and insisted they all watch the show. She was really impressed with that performance but still didn't follow the rest of the show. Finale night in-laws were over again and insisted they watch so she got to see him with KISS and Queen and thought he was fabulous. A total star. When his album came out she got her husband to download it. She's not a concert goer and didn't know about any of his other releases so I caught her up to date and told her about the BTM special and urged her to check out the concert DVD which she said she'd get her husband to look up. Told he about the new song and when the album should be coming out and she is really looking forward to it.
This is the second time wearing that shirt that someone commented on Adam. These are not online fans so it is good to find that "normal" people are looking forward to his new album too. ;D ;D ;D

I am trying really hard not to feel sad that we are VH1 scorned here in Canada. Will be sitting on the edge of my computer chair waiting for YouTube. Same here---waiting for YT. I don't get VH1. It will be fine. |

Those of you without small children who wonder how some of these kids make it to ITunes success need to spend a day watching Nick and Disney. Most of the shows end at 7 min to the hour, which leaves time for videos from Selena, Victoria Justice, Big Time Rush,etc, etc. The little ones hear it and want it.
By the way, I drew a line in the sand a few weeks ago and said 2 things I WILL NOT WATCH are PHINEAS AND FERB and VICTORIOUS with Victoria Justice, to me the most annoying and most autotuned creature on earth. So, when I saw the poster for Adam at the VH1 awards, who is also a presenter? Victoria Justice. My 6 yr old granddaughter is so aware of my disdain for VJ that when she went to Build a Bear the other day, she got a dog and named it Victorious just to torment me.

I asked this question late last night on the thread, and did not get an answer. So, forgive the repost, but, there are more folks online new.
I used to have an email alert set so that when someone posted a new comment on the vocal masterclass thread I would be notified. It has not worked recently, so I went to look where to set it again. I cannot find where to set preferences to notify me of a new posting. Is that feature still available? If so, where can I access it?

Rihannsu.....I wear my Adam shirt(s) out and about all the time. Yes, I do get the occasional stare, but I love it. You just never know when it'll spark a conversation that'll recruit a new fan or re-kindle the interest of someone who loved him on Idol. I do my best to spread the AFL love wherever I can.... ILHSFM.

"Acceptance." "Acceptance." "Acceptance." I have seen those appearances, unwillingly, and have no opinion. Maybe I am just prejudice against annoying cartoon characters with triangular heads, I don't know. I'm SURE it isn't because of any sort of generation gap. When we play Barbies (I know, sexist plaything) my hilarious granddaughter plays the coach when Barbie and Jasmine are in gym class and named the coach COACH TRIANGULAR, again just to get a rise out of me..... which is all in fun, by the way. She lets me name the Ken doll whatever I want, when he's allowed to play, and of course, he's Adam. That made her roll her eyes and threaten to tell her mother. Oddly enough, the blonde Ken was named by her or someone else a year ago and his name is Brad. We don't play with him a lot because his head falls off periodically and his pants fall down a lot. Ha, Ha. |

I'm popping in from lurkdom to report that I just met an Adam fan in Bangladesh!  (I'm here in Dhaka for a month-long visit.) It's telling that within one hour of meeting a Bangladeshi friend of a friend I brought up Adam, lol, but to my amazement she immediately began lamenting the fact that he didn't win AI8. Turns out she & her 16-yr old daughter watch AI on some Indian satellite TV channel they get here, and apparently Adam made quite an impression on them. I regaled her with tales of what he's been up to, educated her on how to access his youtube vids, tweets, etc., and she left with copies of FYE, Acoustic, and GNT DVD/CD. (They're apparently not available here, prob because everything here is pirated.) So that made my day. BTW, Adamtopia has really helped keep me sane these last 3 weeks. It takes an eternity to buffer the YT vids and photos, but I'm so grateful that I'm able to keep up with the latest Adam news & analysis even from here. Did you give away your only cd copies or did you take multiple? #InternationalStar yay |

I think that's where you mark the threads to follow and notify you when added to. Thanks for pointing me to it  . ETA: I'm sure you'd have found it anyway, but the '+ bookmark' icon is at the top of any page in the thread. |
