I also gave her his Twitter and ATOP info. After that, she couldn't make any negative comments about gay marriage, DADT, etc without sounding like a homophobic bitch. Win one for the home team. If you gave your Sister the link to Adamtopia you might want to delete the "homophobic bitch" part of your story!  OMG, I am crying..... ;D |

Aspen, loved your story and I also just read Hoopla's recap. Just wow.
RL is kicking me in the butt trqveling back and forth to GA. No internet and no tv. Oooh, awful. My son started school in GA and we still live in SC and are using the new home in GA with no furniture and 2 beds as our gypsy home.

I just got home from an early dinner with my sister, one of those who wrote off Adam after the AMAs. I never worried much about it because she doesn't even own a CD, listens to talk radio most of the time, and really doesn't like to do much in the way of fun. She works for a huge bank, but does most of it from home, but had to go to the office yesterday, which included lunch out with lots of old friends. The conversation (she's not sure how) turned to Adam. After a few minutes she volunteered that her sister was a big fan and had gone to quite a number of concerts last summer. The friends (straight women and 3 gay guys included) were attacking her with questions and Adam mania. It shocked and amazed her. Dinner was pretty much a TELL ME EVERYTHING ABOUT ADAM AND THE LAST 2 YEARS event. So much f'n fun. She is going home to email some of the answers I gave her to her friends. I also gave her his Twitter and ATOP info. Because she is pretty much a conservative, I nipped any unpleasantries in the bud by talking about OOL and how it addresses what people like Adam have to go through and about the generous and charitable person Adam is. After that, she couldn't make any negative comments about gay marriage, DADT, etc without sounding like a homophobic bitch. Win one for the home team. As I got out of her car, she asked me to send her the link to BTM and a few videos, including OOL. Maybe it's not too late for us to find some common interest. Yay! - I LOVE your post! I am just getting ready to send some info to a person who liked Adam on AI, but had sort of lost track of him. She's listening to my CDs and watching GNT this weekend. The next step: www.adamquotedaily.blogspot.com Gloria has a daily news entry - does it all herself - a true labor of love! But for the newbie (or someone who can't see/read all this stuff too many times!), she also has Adam 101: adamquotedaily.wordpress.com/adam-lambert-101/Also: adamquotedaily.wordpress.com/sauli/ and a few others. And at one time she had a few hundred fan videos collected, though I haven't checked lately... So many great people doing so many great things with Adam stuff - I'm so grateful! And, needless to say, grateful for all the talent and time shared here at this wonderful place! |

OMG, I am crying..... ;D I can guarantee you she won't be on before Sunday and by then this will be long gone. She will not be backtracking, not a fanatic the way I am. One thing she does want to see, although I don't think she's entirely comfortable with Adam having a BOYfriend, is Sauli on BB. She's a big reality show fan and watches our BB. I'm going to try to round up some of the adorable vids we have of him.... maybe avoiding the one with him rolling around in bed with the other guys, and send them to her. One step at a time. |

I almost forgot! I was at Target today and I periodically check to see how many Adam Lambert CDs are in their CD section. For the past year, his CD has been filed alphabetically under Pop/Rock. Last time I checked, about a month ago, there was one GNL and 2 FYEs. Today, they moved him to Best Sellers and there were 3 GNL (which to me means they had to reorder) and NO FYEs!! Woo-hoo!!!!!!  |
